President Donald Trump will order the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to review the “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS) regulation, effectively repealing another major Obama-era policy.

Trump wants the EPA and the Corps to make sure “waters are kept free from pollution, while at the same time promoting economic growth, minimizing regulatory uncertainty” and respecting the role of states and Congress.

The EPA and the Corps will repeal or revise parts of WOTUS that don’t match those policy goals, according to a copy of the order obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. Trump is expected to sign the order Tuesday.

Absolutely magnificent. There were places in here in Michigan that were called “wetlands” that were actually just large puddles after a rain because “someone” wanted choice property. What a joke that was! They even called plowed field mountain ranges.

"Kids wanted to swim, we wanted to ice-skate in winter, here in Wyoming. I built this little pond. The EPA charged me $38,000 PER DAY for some crazy violation..? I'm a welder and it got so they wanted $7,000,000 from me..!"

Very good news - people may not be generally aware of how abusive regulations like this are, but they are really bad, and it is a huge win for freedom, the economy, the people, and Trump!

So now when I hang my butt over the toilet, my rectum will no longer join the “nexus” of waterways making it one of the “Waters of the United States.”

That’s an extra $4 billion per year to shut down US businesses and deprive Americans of their property.

Good news. The “waters of the U.S.” isn’t just a power grab regarding environmental issues, it ties in with “navigable waters” and various issues having to do with federal overreach under the commerce clause.

If it’s moving, breathing, or standing still, Mordor on the Potomac wants to regulate it.

Good news. The “waters of the U.S.” isn’t just a power grab regarding environmental issues, it ties in with “navigable waters”

For all of us who lived through the power grab by the Corps of Engineers and the EPA, for almost 50 years we never believed we would ever see the day...

The day when the original Constitutional definition of Federal waters ruled. pretty simple, everyone could understand it. Everyone that is, but the federal bureaucrat:
Oceans, Federal up to the highest tide.
Rivers, up to normal high flows, must be navigable year round.
Creeks whether year round or seasonal, NEVER federal property unless navigable year round; otherwise Private property specially if the stream is legally defined as the boundary between PRIVATE property owners.

Seasonal large flooded shallow areas, always private property.
Stock ponds or simply a pond created on private property for whatever purpose, Remains permanently private property unless purchased by the federal government.

Last I heard,

the ultimate absurdity : Rain falling on private roofs or private property? Belongs to the Feds or the State; Private property owner may not collect or store it for recreation or future use. Presumably that would include the flood waters occupying the lower floor of a multi-story building.
