H-1B is merit based and killing domestic STEM careers. This idea sucks bigly. The default position seems the the USA, current population 330 million, desperately need immigrants. That is a joke. This mindset has to change.

H-1B generates anger because it was abused to deliberately drive down wages. If the numbers were reduced to reasonable levels, it wouldn’t be controversial.
Whatever the rules turn out to be, somebody will try to find a way to abuse it. H1B is an example.
