To be fair, there’s still The Lion King which contains some very surprising conservative values, and we can definitely say the last genuinely conservative film before that was The Little Mermaid. At the very least, keep those movies, alongside the classic three. Anything Beauty and the Beast afterward, you can scrap.
And for the record, we definitely need to fix Disney. Believe it or not, Disney was once a very conservative company. This crap would never have been what Walt himself would have wanted.
Emma could have been so much more.
Emma could have been so much more.
The could have gone totally Lesbo and casted Rosie O’Donnell as “The Beast”.
you guys are making me laugh
Even Disney’s not that evil.
I love it when I’m innocently scrolling and a pic like that pops up. I’m still laughing.
Well you’d have to admit Rosie would make for a good beast.
Hype and buzz. They will cut the scene from the final release but get loads of publicity.
ESPN is losing 10,000 customers at $84 a year... every day.
B&TB could have done 500m worldwide... now it might do half that.
Eventually the execs will be held accountable.
The Beast was so manly and at the end the price turned out to be so faggy but still got the girl. Upon leaving the theater Gretta Garbo declared.’GIVE ME BACK MY BEAST!”
Darn good film though!
Disney, take your crap and stick it....You bunch of pedophiles. Why not put Comet Ping Pong Pizza in it...Have beauty and the beast eating a pizza there..
There’s only one reason Hollywood wants to introduce deviant sex to children at a young age: they want them for sex. Hollywood is crawling with pedophiles so they have to indoctrinate kids and their parents. Wake up, America.
espn has become unwatchable!
Actually, the Belle in the original French fairy tale was the bigger feminist. To save her father's life she chose to go to the Beast in his stead. In the Beast's palace she was given her own room filled with books, music, harpsichord. During dinners she was appreciated by the Beast for her cleverness and strength of character. In the end she chose to marry him for his good heart, not his looks.
If only Disney had stuck to the original story instead of twisting it.
Next Disney movie: Mickey Mouse will be moving in with Donald Duck, Dewey will be announcing he is undergoing a trans-species operation to become a pelican, Speed McQueen will be dating Buzz light-year.
Would you like the new ABC shows?
Even though I kind of agree with you there, I suggest you need to tell that to Linda Woolverton, since she implied that Belle in the original tale only went to the castle because she was forced, by men, to go (completely ignoring her sisters’ role in the event), and she also made clear multiple times that when she wrote Belle’s character, she specifically had in mind the 1960s/1970s feminist movement, second wave feminism in other words.
Like I said, Disney twists everything around. Woolverton probably couldn’t stomach the thought of a father figure, or of any female who displays deference toward men.
I would keep far away from any feminist creator.
Disney didn’t seem to twist Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty around (the original films, I mean), and even The Little Mermaid, changed ending and the Sea Witch/Maiden being upgraded to villain aside, was actually surprisingly close to the original tale (certainly closer than Disney’s Beauty and the Beast was, anyway).
Only film during the Walt Disney era that actually was twisted around was The Jungle Book, and to be fair, that was kind of necessary since original book wasn’t exactly child friendly at all.
Well, to be fair, there is a big sign saying, “keep out” right next to Donald Duck’s ass.
