A Honduran man was convicted Friday of motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident.
Douglas County District Judge Horacio Wheelock found 27-year-old Orling Carrasco-Zelaya guilty after a five-day trial.
Carrasco-Zelaya, who was in the United States illegally, drove drunk and hit and fatally wounded Margarito Nava-Luna, a father of five.
The two, who were co-workers, had been drinking at Bogie’s Bar and Grill, near 108th Street and West Maple Road, Omaha police have said.

To prove that journalism is dead - read that article backwards and forwards and tell me the immigration status of the victim, Margarito Nava-Luna. Not even addressed.
We should not have to wait until illegal aliens harm or kill someone before they are removed.
DACA must also be ended now.
The American landscape is littered with American victims of this government sponsored violent illegal invasion. Those responsible in D.C. should pay big for what they’ve done.

I’m really surprised they published the fact that either of them were illegal aliens, they usually try to suppress that information.
I have called and written to my local news outlets about that very practice.
Yes, that is the perpetrator, not the victim. My suspicion is that the victim was possibly an illegal as well, but it would be nice if journalists considered it important enough to address.
