Roger Stone was put out on the periphery by the Trump campaign early on because they knew the guy’s a loose cannon. I think the big reason the left wants so badly to connect Stone with all of this is his ties going back to Richard Nixon, the left’s favorite historical whipping horse. If they can make the link with Stone to the Russians they can say see Donald Trump is just as devious and underhanded as Richard Nixon. Whatever.
