New York federal prosecutor Preet Bharara says he was fired by Trump administration
The Washington Post ^ | March 11, 2017 | Devlin Barrett, Sari Horwitz and Robert Costa

Preet Bharara, one of the most high-profile federal prosecutors in the country, said he was fired Saturday after refusing to submit a letter of resignation as part of an ouster of the remaining U.S. attorneys who were holdovers from the Obama administration, according to people familiar with the matter.

Bharara’s dismissal was an about-face from President Trump’s assurances to the Manhattan-based prosecutor in November, weeks after the election, that he wanted him to stay on the job following a meeting at Trump Tower, according to Bharara.

President Trump did not assure Mr. Bharara his job was permanent...he would let his AG decide. Mr. Bharara wanted to be fired rather than do as his colleagues did, resign...what was is point other than getting publicity. There is nothing "surprising" about this decision....it is surprising Sessions didn't fire the Obama hold overs sooner.

He let go of all the other Obama appointees too. He didn’t single this guy out.

Preet Bharara’s “protestations” lead me to believe he’s one of the Pedo Alliance...

When the boss asks you to resign and you won’t, expect to be fired. Only hard core leftists would not understand.

George Webb, while praising him in the past, also says he would prosecute the little fish and let the big fish go. If true, then I think we can hope this means Sessions is going to go after big fish.

Why would anyone want to publicly announce he was fired? Aside from attention-seeking?

Politically speaking this would be called padding your resume for the dem party.

There was an AG stand-in who refused to enforce a legal Presidential order so she was also fired. Again; only to make herself look good in the eyes of the resistance/fascist/obstructionist/dem party. An honorable person would have simply resigned citing her inability to enforce the order.

I think we have to constantly remind ourselves dems don't think like normal people. They are always conniving and looking for ways to damage their opponents rather than work toward the common good of the American people and the country in general. I'm not saying every single republican is honorable by any stretch; but on average a far higher percentage of pubbie pols are working for the common good than their dem counterparts IMHO. YMMV. FWIW.

...”He let go of all the other Obama appointees too. He didn’t single this guy out.”...

Remember, Clinton fired all of his the first day in office. It is expected that President’s will do that. But you can rely on the Washington Post to try and give the impression that this is somehow unusual under President Trump. I truly detest that newspaper and do not consider it a reliable source for the “news.” It should be called the “Washington Post Inquirer.”

Something was GOING DOWN here with this guy.

I don’t know what yet, but others have speculated that he may well have been involved with the spying on Trump. His reaction was weird...he had nothing to gain by making a spectacle of himself as he already the #1 prosecutor in the country. It was something more...to me his reaction was one of shock - never expecting such an abrupt end - thinking that he would have advance notice.

So, perhaps he was planning to come down on Trump and was getting his final ducks in row for just that. Some kind of big-time (and bogus) indictment to help Shumer (his buddy) finally finish off Trump? Hard to know for sure...but something is not ‘normal’ here - lots of ADAs have been shown the door over the years, why did this one act up in this way?

I think Trump found out Preet was in on the gov’t spying-on-Trump operation.
