AGHDAD — The remaining western Mosul neighborhoods held by the Islamic State group are now completely surrounded and IS has lost more than 60 percent of the territory the militants once held in Iraq, according to a senior coalition official.
"ISIS is trapped," Brett McGurk, the special presidential envoy for the global coalition against IS, told reporters in Baghdad Sunday, using an alternative acronym for the Islamic State group. He told reporters the Iraqi army had taken control of the last road leading out of Mosul late Saturday night.

Well, then it follows that they need to tighten the noose around the city and kill every last one of the ISIS fighters! But we need to get Bagdadi and publicly execute him in front of a bunch of his followers, then execute all of them. Scorched earth is what is required. No one must be allowed to escape.
Any ISIS “fighters” (read: rapists and murderers) that are captured will face a similar fate that they meeted out on their victims.
Now go Medieval Crusader on them...
Do not let them escape to fight again.

Good to see them using ISIS, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria again and not ISIL, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. Obama used that because it took in the area that is Israel.

Is it just a coincidence that right after Clinton loses election, and Obama is leaving, that ISIS begins to collapse?
ISIS is just another Saudi-supported jihadi group, used by the Saudis and the Obama regime to promote larger strategic aims - in this case, Sunni domination of Syria, pipeline-routing politics, and a strategic poke in the eye to Russia and Putin.
Oh cool, then the survivors will all be captured and put into holding pens like Nazis at the end of WWII, then carefully sorted through over a year or so for the war crimes trials and hangings.....right?

I doubt it. If they haven’t let ISIS escape into Turkey or Syria they will. When they finally get into Mosul they will find only a few zealots with the majority gone which was the plan in the first place. And now they will turn on the Kurds.
Middle Eastern press has already warned that the IS leadership is relocating to Deir-ez-Zor.
