Democrats Warn of Shutdown Showdown Over Trump’s Mexican Border Wall

Senate Democrats are warning Republicans of a shutdown showdown if President Donald Trump insists on including funding for a wall along the Mexican border in April’s government funding bill.

“We believe it would be inappropriate to insist on the inclusion of such funding in a must-pass appropriations bill that is needed for the Republican majority in control of the Congress to avert a government shutdown so early in President Trump’s Administration,” the Senate Democratic leadership team, along with Appropriations ranking Democrat Patrick J. Leahy of Vermont, wrote in a letter to be circulated Monday.

The letter was directed to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Appropriations Chairman Thad Cochran, R-Miss., but the clear audience was the Trump administration and the new president himself.

Ah ha. More grads from Dumbassistan U. Okay brain trusts, here's a simple question or two. Do you leave your domicile unlocked 24/7/365? Do you leave your transportation unlocked with the keys in? Do you tell your armed security detail to take the day off cause nothing is gonna happen? Why not? Unicorn rainbows for everybody. Fidiots!

I don’t give a dang about any of what your questions pose.

I was promised MEXICO would pay for the wall.

That is the only acceptable source for funding.

If we don’t insist on this out of the gate it ain’t never gonna happen.

That was the promise and they need to figure out the mechanics before one shovel of dirt is turned or the US will NEVER be repaid.

I think the budget can use reconciliation to pass. That would require only a simple majority.

Unlimited immigration (of both Mexicans AND Muslims!) is becoming ever-more obvious as the most important goal of the establishment press and politicians and socialist-classes. (RINO’s are for it as well, but they are now realizing they can’t say it in public. (McCain excepted - but he never had a brain anyway.)

Black immigration from Africa not so much - Maybe because they (the democrats) can get more destruction from the black underclass already here, and the Muslim-African-Arabian-SE Asian muslims are “brown enough” to qualify in their social system?

Note that “black immigration” directly from Africa as demanded by Obola only during the limited Ebola crisis in west Africa. Only when the black Africans had a incurable, deadly, easily transmitted disease did we need to ensure they continued to be allowed entrance! (Shows the true racial prejudices of the Muslim-led Obola administration, doesn’t it.)

Government shutdown? Trump would love that. Shut down every single Democrat program out there and then blame the Democrats. Obama played this game and it is only fair that Trump treat it the same way Obama did. Only difference is Trump can get his message to the people and call the media out on their bias.

Mexico paying for the wall and Mexico funding the construction of the wall are two very different issues. Pay attention.

You, friend, have slipped a cog: we build the wall ASAP and worry about reimbursement later. The wall is the reason we voted in a whole new leadership.

But I thought it would be the end of the world and children would be dying in the streets if there were to be a government shutdown. Ah, those wacky democrats!

The Ctrl-Left is threatening to temporarily shut down nonessential parts of FedGov? Go for it. Decent people are hoping President Trump will permanently shut down nonessential parts of FedGov.

Let the democrats write letters, today.

When the budget cuts come out later this week, lets see them go whacko then!

According to the Democrats the wall is impossible to build so why are they threatening to shut down on something which is impossible
