gas explosion which obliterated a Wirral dance studio in Merseyside is now being treated as a criminal investigation.
Merseyside Police confirmed the incident is a police matter and they are working with the National Grid, Wirral Council and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service to establish how the blast occurred.
An official statement from the force said they are still working to “ensure the area is made safe and that residents are able to return to their homes or collect belongings”.

The evening before the explosion, someone reported a gas leak at the site, but the investigating crew found no evidence of a problem. Interesting. Perhaps someone was tinkering with the gas connection, casing the joint, so to speak, and some gas escaped. That person or persons shut off the valve, departed before the crew showed up, then came back later to finish the job.
Who has the insurance policy?
Hairy fishnets?
Chinese restrauant stealing gas?
Who would rig such a devastating explosion without regard for human life? Expect code phrases like “londoner” or “asian” to be forthcoming.
“Workplace accident” as the Palestinians like to say.
If a jihadist is intent on doing a lot of damage and killing a bunch of people without yet sending himself to loll under the tree with dates and his 72 where cool rivers flow then doing gas explosions is probably a pretty effective way to go. It takes a bit of guile and cleverness to get access to the utility rooms of large buildings but the results can be pretty spectacular.
Please....enough “Amish”.
