Freedom Caucus is also the orimary reason why Paul Ryan is still Speaker. Theyre a bunch of frauds. Comfort yourself with their supposed cinservative purity. Its a charade.

Why are so many so called “conservatives” wanting to polish the Obamacare turd? Why would any sane Republican wants their President be left with the ownership of the sh*tsandwich?

Because "conservatism" is as dead as a hammer. The GOPe, a.k.a. "The Swamp," has kicked its ass.

After what just happened, why would the FC not call for Ryan’s ouster? If Ryancare was so bad [it was] then why are they not already pushing for a better/more conservative Speaker?

“Now Trump is already looking at Dems for help..”

Yeah, instead of embracing FC and realizing his mistakes of Trump/Ryan/ObamaCare, you’re justifying the move towards the RATS?

“My mini-socialist care package was rejected, so I am going to embrace full-socialist packages.” Not good!

They also gladly voted for Ryan to be Speaker. So exactly when did they go from gutless RINOS to gods? Frankly they are whomever they want to be at any given time

Listen at him. They voted for Lyin' Ryan in the spirit of Party unity. To "go along to get along" as per the Congressional "leadership."

Ryancare was a step too far. The FC decided they were done "going along to get along" with the GOPe. They weren't buying Ryan's bill of bulls*** goods. God Bless 'em for it.

I stand with the Freedom Caucus. I stand for Free Market Capitalism. I sand with Lou Dobbs. You are with me or you are against me. Period.

An article at The Conservative Treehouse says Koch brothers told the FC to vote no or no more money to them from Koch.

Maybe Trump doesn’t mind that now we can all wait for the natural death of Obamacare. For sure Ryan comes out looking bad...maybe that’s why Trump let this play out.

I saw a mention or two today for single payer...which is what I thought Obamacare was all about in the first place - as long as a rat still was in the WH.

The Freedom Caucus is the best thing in Congress.

The Freedom Caucus, after setting up Paul Ryan as speaker of the house (despite them knowing that Ryan had sworn to never "defend" the President), lied to the public about the nature of the vote and deliberately negotiated in bad faith for the sole purpose of nuking any chance of a bill getting through the House.

They did this because they are just as much a part of the Uniparty as Paul Ryan is. Their donors are calling all the shots.

I know the answer and you know the answer.

Most of the HFC is already on Ryan’s side, just playing the bad cop in order to ensure that nothing whatsoever gets done.

If they’d had a mind to do it, they could have engaged in negotiations in order to get more of what they wanted, but I personally didn’t see much in the way of negotiation. The deal could have still fallen through and probably would have, but they could have at least set up future bills to be more conservative.

IF they believed what they were saying.

Most of them apparently don’t.

It's Ryan that needs to go...he is the problem

Exactly right. That should be something that everyone can agree on.

The blame for this outcome lies squarely with the Speaker of the House, not the President, and not the House Freedom Caucus.

While it may be true that that HFC "moved the goalposts" to a certain degree, the only reason that is true is because of the inferior character of Ryan's bill in the first place.

Whatever the details of the bill might have been, it was not even remotely constructed in such a way as to "put the patient first", "use the free market to encourage competition", and "bring Americans' insurance premiums down".

To the contrary: by all accounts, this bill was authored "secretly, behind closed doors by the insurance industry" (sound familiar?), there was "no effort to build consensus" among the interests who were supposed to support the bill, and it was rolled out with a "take it or leave it, all or nothing" attitude.

In short, this bill reeked of Establishment influence and was basically the opposite of what the President and his voters called for during the campaign.

The HFC tried to put lipstick on this pig, but once it became apparent that it was indeed a pig, and that the RINO's would begin to peel off the more the HFC was appeased, things fell apart very quickly.

In essence, the GOPe (through its senior House member, Speaker Paul Ryan) tried to screw President Trump nine ways to China.

The bill was exactly what shouldn't have been introduced in this Revolutionary atmosphere.

Indeed, if the bill had only been wrapped in the populist trappings which I mentioned above, even with mostly the same provisions and effects, it might very well have had a chance to pass.

As soon as it became apparent that this bill wasn't anywhere close to what the voters had asked for, it was doomed to fail, one way or another—either by the loss of conservative votes or, alternately, by the loss of "moderate" (RINO) votes.

The only chance for Obamacare repeal & replace to pass under the current state of things will be for a true statesman to propose it, not the epitome of the Establishment.

Because Paul Ryan was the Speaker, it made sense for him to get the first crack at it. But he rolled out a totally Establishment "Obamacare lite" bill which, even if passed—which would benefit the President in the short term—it would have been terribly damaging to the President in the mid- to long- term, quite possibly guaranteeing him only a single term. The public support simply wasn't there to pass an Establishment measure which didn't do anything for Americans in advance of the 2018 midterms.

Paul Ryan should be replaced. Again, that should be something that everyone can agree on. I don't believe that Paul Ryan has the President's best interest in mind, and this bill he offered is ample evidence of that...

“Listen at him. They voted for Lyin’ Ryan in the spirit of Party unity. To “go along to get along” as per the Congressional “leadership.” “

Then spare me the grandstanding because these people aren’t the caucus of the pure and righteous. They should have shown all of that spunk back then. I called them out for just going with Ryan back then, so I’m no in line to place a wreath on top of their heads.

What? Do they get a pass because they did this? For those of us that paid attention to the HFC before last week, nothing they do is rooted in anything principled, even if you agree with it.

Dont tell me whom you “stand with”, tell these gods to start moving on their own bills. Standing around being righteous is easy and doesn’t impress people.
