“How is the smart meter connected to the cable?”

That’s what I’d like to know. We don’t have a cable connection, but our phone lines do come into the house right next to the gas and electric meters. but there are no hardwired connections to either. Just left wondering what does power the smart gas meter?

A 20-year-life lithium thionyl-chloride battery, likely with a lithium-ion "capacitor" to improve pulse current.

Sigh.

Here's the problem: most people know nothing about this technology, and assume it's spying on them.

Sigh.

Been in the business as an engineer for 20 years. I tire of these discussions. In fact, I've had it. Yep, it's spying on you! It knows when you have sex!
