I don’t know if you’ve got the whole picture there.

I think Trump is for restoring America’s position in the world. Part of what he is saying is that there was a whole (huge) section of the GOP who has been very busy for the entire last generation, shipping what used to be the best manufacturing base on the planet, to China.

Now it is still the best manufacturing base in the world, but now it is CHINESE.

No Americans have jobs in this new environment. China however is doing great.

I just flew back to the USA today, on a jet full of Chinese. They are doing quite well now, thank you.

The thing is, America not so much. That, in my view is where Donald Trump should (needs to) expend political capital right now. Bringing back JOBS.

To America.

And also, building the wall.

It is only after those two things have been accomplished, that we want to nuke Obamacare.

Not before those two things are done. In my view.

Return America’s manufacturing capabilities, and America’s manufacturing jobs, first.

First.

Don’t tear up Obamacare, until later.

Just my view.

Are you really so stupid as to imagine that Obamacare hasn’t driven up the cost of manufacturing in America?

Or have your Commerades ordered you to float that Trojan union talking point?

There's several ways to stimulate job- and industry-growth; the best would be to remove things that impede it, namely: the onerous regulations that have accumulated in the past 50 years.

Another one, and this would take some time, would be to fix the patent and copyright problem -- there's a lot of companies out there sitting on patents and doing nothing to develop them, moreover the system is optimized against small businesses and individuals. The way to fix this problem is to acknowledge the Constitution as supreme law. In particular, this portion from Article 1, Section 8:

To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;
Notice that Congress is not empowered to secure these exclusive rights (patent and copyright) to anyone but the inventors and authors -- this means that companies cannot legally hold patent or copyright.

Void all the patents that are held by companies and you'll see a big boom in businesses of all sizes trying to capitalize on the ideas therein.

Obamacare is like a Hydra. The longer it is allowed to continue, the more entangled in the structure of government it becomes. Thus, the more difficult it will be to eradicate in the future.

There’s a good point, the GOPe pretty well sold us out. I think we can agree on that.

There’s a case to be made right there makes pretty good sense.

That said I don’t see why we cannot walk and chew gum simultaneously. You’re absolutely right about expending the political capital in the right sequence. And I too feel betrayed by the GOPe who’s been selling us out for decades now. I do think that there’s a lot of political capital being wasted on the health care mess. But I think it’s largely a smoke screen, a red herring.

It Draws all of the media attention. Meanwhile the trump admin is defunding sanctuary cities, shutting down visas from countries where terrorists are coming in from, instituting innovation, cutting funding to the EPA, gathering estimates for the wall building, arresting aliens and deporting them. This is standard Trump strategy. He’s doing five things at the same time and the media can only focus on one thing at a time. The media cant freeze more than one target at a time. Alinsky breaks down here. Trump figured out the formula.

Personally, I like Mr Brooks bill. It’s elegant and comprehensible. The federal government has no business handing out health care benefits. It basically states that anything from the fruit of the Obama poison tree is hereby repealed.

If you think repealing Obamacare can wait while other things are being accomplished, you don’t understand the absolutely crushing impact it has on US business, jobs, and wages.

It’s an economy killer and was designed to be that way. It can’t be ignored nor deferred if economic revival is a serious goal.
