Social Security Disability Lawyer Pleads Guilty For Role in $550 Million...

A Social Security disability lawyer pleaded guilty in federal court today for his role in a scheme to fraudulently obtain $550 million in federal disability payments from the Social Security Administration (SSA) for thousands of claimants.

Eric Christopher Conn, 56, of Pikeville, Kentucky, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Danny C. Reeves of the Eastern District of Kentucky to one count of theft of government money and one count of payment of gratuities. Sentencing is set for July 14, 2017.

What's interesting about this, is the fact that this defendant was the attorney for a Federal Social Security judge who had plead guilty in June 2016 for conspiring to retaliate against a whistle-blower in the SSA:

Back in January 2012 my wife's SS direct deposit didn't arrive into her bank account as it normally did. When she called SS, she eventually learned that she and "many, many" others had their records in the SS database changed to deposit her retirement payments to a bank in central America. This was very hush hush, I couldn't find anything in the news about this.

I don't know if these things are related, but it smelled to me at the time that someone inside the SSA had stolen millions if not billions in this manner... my guess was that perhaps it was to help Obama's reelection campaign that year.

It should also be noted that this perp (Eric Conn) is listed as an “Inaugural Donor” to Obama.

Since I moved to KY I noticed that a LOT of people are on SS disability. The reason is that the cost of living is so low here that one can live on it, if their standards are low enough. My neighbor gets it and had to fight for a couple of years because his doctor would not sign off, saying that he was not disabled. I think he got some other doctor to do it.

I wonder if his case falls into this one.

SS Disability is like hitting the Lottery without having to buy a Ticket.

Lots of young People who paid in almost nothing to Social Security with so called “Mental” issues, many due to Drug Abuse.

They steal Taxpayer Money from those who actually need it.

Never see any of the People in the Commercials sitting in Wheelchairs, missing Limbs or petting their Seeing Eye Dogs.

If my wife played golf she could golf, if she fished she could fish. We go for a run every morning. She is on SS disability at 61. We'd be more than glad to give it up if she could be cured of Alzheimer's. She can no longer drive because she can't remember if there was a car in the lane beside her if she tried to change lanes. She can't even tell me where she had lunch today with a friend.

She worked for 40 years paying into social security. Just an FYI because not everybody who is disabled "looks" like they are disabled. (and I'm not taking it personally.) ;^)
