Refugee children in Lancaster can choose to attend the city’s main public high school instead of the privately run alternative academy to which the school district had funneled them, according to the settlement of a nine-month legal announced Wednesday by the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania.
The agreement, approved by the Lancaster School Board on Tuesday night, opens the way for newly arrived 17-to-20-year-old immigrant students with little or no English fluency to attend a newcomer program at J.P. McCaskey High School, and restricts the district from outplacing them to the for-profit Phoenix Academy, which plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit had alleged was an inferior option. --SNIP-- The lawsuit, Issa v. SMFH. Lancaster is largely unsaveable. The city started going down the gutter about 25 years ago. The German club moved out of the city because people were getting robbed by the “latinos” that took over the neighborhood, then the city. There are still good parts, like around where the Lancaster Central Market is.
The schools are likely so bad this won’t make any effect one way or another, just another financial drain.

McCaskey was dangerous when I went to high school in the area 20 years ago....it is going to be even more dangerous now.
Sounds to me like the school board was trying to HELP them by funneling them to a special school where they can learn ENGLISH first.

Exactly right. The alternative school would have given them individualized help in not just learning English but also life skills for living in a new culture. It was for their benefit.

The 19 yr old freshmen guys want to go to the regular high school to meet girls, and rape them in the restroom.

Although the city is a leader in surveillance cameras, crime is out of control.

What is going down in Lancaster is proof positive that anti-American leftists have become ensconced in public institutions throughout the country. The consequence: a beautiful little city in the heart of Pennsylvania transformed into a crime-ridden ghetto.
