In February and March of 2015, former senior national security officials of the Reagan and Clinton administrations warned that North Korea should be regarded as capable of delivering by satellite a small nuclear warhead, specially designed to make a high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack against the United States. According to the Congressional EMP Commission, a single warhead delivered by North Korean satellite could blackout the national electric grid and other life-sustaining critical infrastructures for over a yearkilling 9 of 10 Americans by starvation and societal collapse.
Two North Korean satellites, the KMS-3 and KMS-4, presently orbit over the U.S. on trajectories consistent with surprise EMP attack.
Why do the press and public officials ignore or under-report these facts? Perhaps no administration wants to acknowledge that North Korea is an existential threat on their watch.
Whatever the motives for obfuscating the North Korean nuclear threat, the need to protect the American people is immediate and urgent:
The U.S. must be prepared to preempt North Korea by any means necessaryincluding nuclear weapons.
Ambassador R. James Woolsey was the Director of Central Intelligence from 1993-95

Not going to happen.
Obama attempted to create an EMP, but was thwarted.
My understanding is that “a small nuclear warhead” ain’t good enough.
Yes, and it was stupid then, too.
Would not surprise me if we find Obama tried his own EMP over the U.S. just so he could declare marshal law and postpone the election.
Well, there was that one time Obama allegedly tried to nuke South Carolina...
EBT cards went down for 17 east coast states, too, during that time.
Things were very dangerous then, people have no idea.
If only the North Koreans could nuke out the prophets (profits) of doom and other pseudo-experts who don’t have a clue about tomorrow’s stock market but pretend they can predict the end of times in 10, 50 years.
Nuke the climate-change profiteers first.
I think the fake news #thehill is going to be guilty of beating the drums of war. Then if it begins, will be on board with saying there was a rush to judgment.
[ Would not surprise me if we find Obama tried his own EMP over the U.S. ]
I think Obama was pushing his Effeminate Male Propaganda pretty much every day.
:/
(j/k - kinda)
MARTIAL! MARTIAL! MARTIAL!
Marshal is a dude’s name, or a old-west Sheriff.
US was never gonna be attacked, until it did.
We’ll never face an extinction level event, until we do.
N. Korea will never attack, until they finally do.
One missle wouldn’t do the job but 3 or 4 from offshore container ships would ABSOLUTLEY devastate this country. It wouldn’t take much to tip our society into chaos.
From the Article:
“Launch a crash program to harden against EMP attack the U.S. electric grid to preserve American civilization and hundreds of millions of lives. This could be part of President Trumps infrastructure modernization project.”
This could be done. It could have been done with a tiny fraction of the stimulus money. It would not cost more than a couple of billion dollars.
An EMP attack is a potentially serious threat, much more so than ebola or a meteor strike.
The “natural EMP” of a super solar flare is known to occur as well. We were hit with one when we were far less vulnerable in 1859, the Carrington Event.

A similar solar event occurred in 2012, but missed the Earth.
Hardening for EMP would also give us some protection against terrorist attacks against the electric grid.
Hardening of the electric grid should be a priority for the defense of the United States. It is one of our most clear vulnerabilities.
Debunked doom porn in spades.
Good book, but it just kind of peters out at the end.
And get prepping!
I keep canned food at my undisclosed location. I buy the cans, and they go on a shelf. A couple of months short of the expiration dates, I rotate the stock out to my local food pantry and restock.
This costs me a few hundred dollars a year, but I am buying food for the food pantry, which I would do anyway, so really it costs me nothing. I am buying food for the food pantry, but I am just holding it at my house for a couple of years before I deliver it.
Win/Win.
It is funny how some folks will talk about how the media is feeding them propaganda. Everything against Trump is propaganda. Everything against conservatives is propaganda.
But when it “speaks” to the desire to blow shit up....some people buy it hook line and sinker. To some, they are a hammer looking for a nail.
North Korea does not have a death wish.
We got our asses kicked in North Korea 70 years ago. And all it did was get 50k+ Americans killed. We do not have the wherewithal to invade anyone. And we certainly do not have the resources to take on China.
There are no good reasons to per-emptively attack anyone.
I’m sure Obama was hoping for EBT riots.
He tried desperately to get an Ebola outbreak going on U.S. soil, but it just wouldn’t take off.
And Moby dick was about a fishing trip.
Relying on the exaggerations of novelists as scientific proof is not a good plan.
If you were to go online and read a good mix of scientific documents—not doom porn—you will find that the danger of an EMP from a nuke is localized at worst. Sure, you could knock out New England, or Florida. But it would take multiple blasts to take out the entire continent.
Our SBLM’s would take out anyone that tried to do that. Our missile defense systems would take out the second, third, fourth attempts to detonate over the continent.
It would be horrible. And it would send the infrastructure problems of the world into a tailspin.
But it would not be the new middle ages. It would be a bump in the road. Except for the country of origin.
I am all for being prepared and stocking food. But to lose sleep over a “One Second After” scenario is overkill.
