Everything I’ve read about that gas attack in Syria indicates it was a false flag operation.

Trump is a newbie. So let’s hope he sees this for what it is and stays out of it.

It’s fine to talk tough and rattle them sabers. But that’s as far as it needs to go.

I think he’s in a rhetorical box after calling Obama a pussy.

Disaster imminent.

“Everything I’ve read about that gas attack in Syria indicates it was a false flag operation”

I’ve seen those articles. I have also heard that the chemical weapons were delivered with fixed-wing aircraft. The only ones with those over there are Syria, Russia, Israel and us.

I simply don’t see Israel being the first to use WMDs when they’re not being attacked, their survival isn’t at stake, and they have less than zero to gain from killing a few dozen people. If we did it, then it is the Deep State in action - but I am not quite that paranoid.

That leaves Syria and Russia. Russia has no particular reason to do this - it would, best case, make their proxy/ally look like the next worse thing to Hitler and Nazi Germany. If they got caught, they’d be a pariah state for a long while. They’d also set themselves up for a chemical attack at home by Moslems - and there are enough attacks of a more conventional nature that they already suffer from that they don’t need to invite more. Putin is far from an ideal human being (or even an ideal leader), but he isn’t that stupid. There’s simply no upside for Russia to have done this. Syria - well, that sick bastard Assad has done stuff like this before, and the Arab world is VERY big on revenge, so he and his regime seem like the logical choice. The move is irrational from a Western P.O.V., but not from the Moslem/Arab one - in the latter, if you DON’T punish your enemies you’re seen as weak and you invite more rebellion and assassination attempts. If you do punish severely and indiscriminately, you are respected - not liked, mind you - but respected enough for people to leave you alone for a while. Maybe he understands that he will shortly be the winner over there, and that he needs to seal the deal with some terror. Again, not logical from a Western P.O.V., but he simply isn’t Western even though he wears nice suits.
