I see this as strike two. First it was lying to us about how great Ryancare was and then slamming the Freedom Caucus for saving his rear end. Don’t expect my support in the next election, Mr. Trump, this is your mess now.

Bannon is out and we now know why

I was very happy with Trump's cabinet selections initially - his only major concessions to the establishment were mindless party hack Reince Priebus and that airhead Nikki Haley.

Then General Flynn gets thrown under the bus and Steve Bannon is relegated to a more marginal role - perhaps to make room for more establishmentarians? I hope not, we shall see.

It was a surprise to me. I hadn’t expected him to do something like this tonight.

I agree with your thoughts on gamed casualties.

I’m sure she was the one that convinced him. (Wink, wink)

I’m not faulting anyone for their views on this. Some folks are very against it. My initial reaction leaned in that direction. Some folks think Trump must have had a reason, and Netanyahu seemed to think Assad was a bad player here.

I don’t have an iron-clad opinion at this time. I do want all sides to be aired, and we’ll see how this settles out over the next few days.

Thank you. My sentiments eggs-actly.

Are there any children living (or dying) in proximity to the destroyed airbase???

Could be Trump wanted to show the Chinese leader and Putin that he’s not afraid to go into battle with Syria, or N. Korea...

I certainly hope their intel is far more accurate than my armchair hunches...

Without air power, how can the air Force of a sovereign Nation defeat the terrorists? I have seen no proof that Assad did a chemical attack. This change in policy is 100% neocon.

Trump ended his statement with “God bless America AND the world. That made me sick. Sorry, but this is the action that loses me. There have been several things that disappointed me such as not repealing Obamacare and slamming the Freedom Caucus. But using military force against Assad is the exact opposite of what he’s said all along.

And to all those who support this action, you would be calling for Obama’s impeachment if he did it. Or if Hillary had won and attacked ANY country, you would have demanded by she be impeached.

Trump is wrong on this.

Good post. The thing I probably hate most about Democrats is that they support policies based on who is implementing them rather than on any principles or merits, i.e. as long as it's their side, it's all good. When Bush pushed regime change and nation-building, it was bad. When Hillary advocated it, it was all of the sudden good.

It's disheartening to see some of the same tendencies on our side.

Trump was our only choice. But for some reason he’s changing. Truthfully, I’ve always suspected the power is way too powerful and the swamp is way too deep.

Is she that stupid? Russia’s only Mediterranean naval base for its Black Sea Fleet is located in the Syrian port of Tartus and diplomatic relations between the Soviet Union and Syria were established in July 1944, and an agreement was signed in February 1946.

So, Hilary, you dumb idiot, do you think they started talking yesterday? They’ve been talking for over 50 years. What a moron.

The CFR (and the Anglo-American establishment) called the strike, and they let Clinton and Trump know that it was happening.

Now they owe Trump. He gets his tax cuts and healthcare reform, maybe even stimulus.

If they can overrule the President as Commander in Chief of the armed forces, then they can also overrule him on taxes and health care.

This is another Gulf Of Tonkin incident.

How can anyone trust the intelligence agencies that have been actively working against President Trump and stabbing him in the back?

My thoughts exactly - is a child being dismembered by an artillery shell better than dying of nerve gas?

I don’t know what to make of all this right now. Maybe it’s a bigger game being played. Sending a message to the “little fat kid”, as well as our enemies and friends that the US is going to lead from the front again?

This is not unlike Reagan sending a message by invading Grenada.

IMO..Russia and Assad both knew this was coming.....remember Putins spokesman said ‘just yesterday’ that Russia's support for Assad is NOT UNCONDITIONAL...... in other words,...no use of gas.

The target was to destroy that capability where the gas attack was from. No Russia men nor equipment was destroyed.....

I think they've all agreed to let Trump do the deed ....and Newt was absolutely right when he mentioned the arab leaders he just met with before this.....Trump had all on board for this IMO. They alll want this Syrian war ended.

So this puts Trump in a position to deal with the situation...and I do think Putin will go along as well as the Arab leaders....

Side benefit is China and Fat Boy were put on alert....don't mess with Trump.
