There’s even an article out there that USAF watched the Syrians drop the barrel boms, there’s no doubt about it despite what mickey mouse sources, zero hedge etc. are dragged out.

Maybe that is why this one guy dug up an old post from trump about telegraphing ahead of time wasting taxpayer money.

Why tell Syria??????????????????????????????????????????

Is that to avoid a killing civilian scenario.

I just figured Russia warned Syria.

Like a poster said upthread...lots of Kabuki theater going on here.

Seems logical to me, to think that ISIS might attack a village held by a competing faction. But, then again, we’re talking about the Middle East where logic seldom applies. My impression has been that the photos of dead children were theatrical, not that the children weren’t dead but it did seem arranged as did the outrage. So, it was intended to invoke sympathy, for Al Qaeda since they held the village presumably, and to provoke a response from the US. The response was to destroy the airport and facilities used to launch the attack. There’s certainly a logic that we can understand in doing that. What remains is verifying that it actually was a chemical weapons attack, and that the intel provided was accurate. I don’t see that Trump had too many good options in response. Not responding would have had him crucified in the media for not caring about those children. The war hawks have been settled down, an air base that intel indicates was used for the attack, regardless of the guilty party, has been destroyed. Russia was not provoked, although we’ll see statements of protest in the media. What would any of the hysterical critics have done differently?

It was a very measured response that sent a well measured message. I for one am definitely not interested in war with Russia. Nothing good will come of that. I am, however, very interested in the ongoing war here at home and how this affects that conflict.

Yes. We could figure out that informing the Russians would then inform the Syrians.

Trump did good going through the deconflict channels as this was supposed to be just a shot across the bow. Save President Trump’s face and do minimal damage that causes sufficient pain.

This is high level geopolitics. I think President Trump has a bigger type A personality than Putin. A perfect example of inexperience being a strategic asset.

>ABC is reporting Syria moved their stuff.

Moved stuff at a Damascus airfield. Not the one we hit. That was the point of not telling them which airfield we were going to hit. If there was anything ineffective about the raid it was that only 37% of the missiles got through according to the Russians. Not sure how accurate that is however.

McMaster, who wont say Radical Islam (as pointed out by loose cannon Flynn Jr) gets to set the agenda for HSC instead of the head of Homeland Security.

Video of Amir Tsarfati saying Israeli intelligence is positive it was Assad behind attacks.

Netanyahu giving U.S. Congress a "guarantee" that taking out Saddam Hussein will have positive benefits for the region (2002)

The counterargument never denied the Syrians made a bombing run.

The part that is missing is what exactly did the Syrians drop?

Because there are reports the target was an ISIS (Al Quaeda) Ammo Depot that was stockpiled with Sarin.

So the counterargument is that Hassad ordered the Ammo Depot taken out without knowing it contained Sarin gas.

It may have been conventional bombs that were dropped, not Sarin.

There’s also a theory that Al-Quaeda planted the Sarin there and then had double agents feed Hassad information of an ISIS Ammo Depot.

ISIS has no hesitation at killing children and babies. They have no conscience when it comes to causing atrocities.

If all the above is accurate, that means Tillerson is dumb and that he duped our President.

I am not impressed with Tillerson.

Trump supporters are still not confident the Deep State is defeated or under control. They have enormous corruption among their ranks.

Sad this happened so early in the new Presidency. It could have waited.

Eyewitness says Syrian military anticipated U.S. raid
By HAIDER NEWMANI and ALEX HOSENBALL
Apr 7, 2017, 12:02 AM ET

Syrian military officials appeared to anticipate Thursday’s night raid on Syria’s Shayrat airbase, evacuating personnel and moving equipment ahead of the strike, according to an eyewitness to the strike.

Why tell Syria?

Because the missile strike wasn't intended to do any real damage.

It was intended to convince a slack-jawed American TV audience that Trump is "doing something" about an incident that was splashed all over the news for the last couple of days.

They probably launched the attack on Syria because they didn't have time to set up a fake Syrian air base in the middle of the Nevada desert somewhere.

That is the task of Tillerson.

The point is that Tillerson DID NOT MAKE THE CASE FOR THIS ACTION. He did not convince or persuade. He has not established a bond with the Trump movement.

He has an opportunity now to convince and persuade. He better do it on the Sunday news shows.

The map proves nothing.

We are the jury.

We decide if Tillerson is telling the truth or not.

So far, he’s not convincing.

And with the corruption in the deep state, Tillerson may himself have been duped by bad intel handed to him.

ISIS does not and did not control that area.

Sarin degrades fairly quickly. Some rescuers are reported to have been sickened by residual toxins. How would they know what the attack was, until more work was done?

Video does not demonstrate the composition of the gas. Sarin degrades fairly quickly, as stated above.

Video at the scene demonstrates the poison was not Sarin and only marginally toxic. The dead were kidnap victims held by ISIS in a munitions bunker. It is reasonable to assume warehoused poison was released as a result of the bombing of the munitions dump.
One of many questions is, “Why were children in a munitions dump?”
Another is, “Why were the putative rescuers not affected by the poison gas?”
No doubt Assad needs to be taken out. This smacks of a setup. Please prove me wrong. I desperately want to be wrong.

Actually, the children being killed is typical of ISIS using hostages as human shields at their military facilities to discourage Syria from attacking and to create a PR opportunity with dead woman and children in an attack does occur.

The kids were being used as human shields by ISIS for the purpose we saw yesterday. They were either killed by bomb damage to the poison gas containers stored in the munitions dump or they were gassed by ISIS Jihadi after the attack to frame Assad's regime with an atrocity.

Assad had plenty to gain. He controls no troops in that area, and it is thick with rebels. He has been using air power because he has no troops on the ground there.

ISIS does not control that area.

Assad has repeatedly ignored agreements with the U.S. He had reason to believe he would not be held to account here.

Trump showed him that violations of agreements with the U.S. have consequences.
