Temperature 82 degrees with occasional clouds, and lagoon waters, clear as paradise former President Barack Obama is wrapping up his month-long vacation in French Polynesia with Michelle by his side.
On Sunday, Tahiti television station TNTV revealed photos of Michelle Obama paddleboarding while the Barack swam in a Polynesian lagoon.
The pictures were taken on the island of Moorea by fellow vacationers, who spotted the laid-back couple using a small boat for a late morning excursion. They were escorted by two other boats with their security detail, the station says.
The former president has been staying out of the public eye at The Brando, the super-private luxury hotel on Tetiaroa, the South Pacific island bought in 1967 by Marlon Brando as a personal retreat.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama had not been with her husband the entire time she arrived on the island on Saturday.

The Obama’s and ice cream. I think they ate Martha’s vineyard dry. Great hand props for photo opportunities.
It looks like she’s wearing a big full diaper. There is a shadow under the buttocks.
They may be in the same country, but they aren’t together in any of the pictures. She showed up on Saturday and by Monday they’re gone? Makes no sense. That’s not long enough to catch up on jet lag. What was the point other than continuing the farce.
We’re seeing now why grandma was shacked up in the WH for 8 years. A certain culture passes child rearing to grandma.
Fake news about Malia. Or fake news about fake news about Malia. Or maybe it’s fake news about fake news about fake news about Malia which circles around to truth town. Either way it’s been a whole week without her in the headlines so time to make up some.
nope, not yet...maybe tomorrow...but most likely never....
somewhere there has to be a tiger shark willing to fulfill the mission
Reportedly, Barry was holed up with 54 men for a month.
No reports on who they were, or how many six-packs there were, but my estimate is: 54.
It's a shame that even an island seemingly that remote has become so tourist-y. Sigh.
Especially considering the airfare from the US, I don’t think it’s an economic destination. Rather, people today spend inordinate (IMO) amounts of money on weddings and honeymoons. The ones we saw in 2000 were on 3-island packages. for all I know, they went into debt or were gifted by relatives.
We were fortunate to be able to travel when we were young. Today, I doubt we would enjoy the long flight or be able to pay the fares.
One other thing about Tahiti: we were caught on Moorea in a country-wide hotel/tourism strike which closed all resorts EXCEPT the US Shearton. Seems the Americans treated their employees well enough to avoid the strike.
None of my information is current, though and I have old memories of pre-development times. I did ask an expat what it cost to live in Papeete in a reasonably American-type life style in 2000. He said $10k/MONTH! Evidently electricity was expensive.
