It was rare for the duel actually occur. Most ended when the aggrieved would point their pistol away from the target and fire their shot away from them. That’s why the Burr/Hamilton duel was so significant.
Get the rival street gangs to pair off all their members as a tidy solution.

Of all the horrendous acts of bullying by the Ctrl-Left in the last decade, that was by far the worst. If that evil thug ever went anywhere that dueling was legal . . .
If it came to legitimate dueling, where all parties were constrained by the CODE DUELLO, I think you would probably see a lot less killing in the streets.
Just my opinion.
The though might be to give hoodlums an outlet, but I think that’s a mistaken notion. I think those guys are too timid to actually stand up against an adversary and duel it out.
Note the folks killed are generally drive buys and the like.
These are crimes of ambush.
What I think would happen would be this. Gang activity remains the same. After bar activity escalates to killings that would never have happened.
I could be wrong. I can get the logic, but I’m not sure it will work out like that in reality.
