Before attacking somebody for some comment, ask "Is this something I could possibly have said myself?"
I think a lot of people have said something like this at one point or another, in reference to Hitler not using gas against allied troops. We know what Spicer meant, and it's something our parents or grandparents might have said and understood.
In a way, the apology or explanation was worse than the original comment, since the clarification implied that those killed by gas didn't include many who had been German citizens (before they were unjustly stripped of their citizenship by Hitler's Nuremberg Laws).
It seems clear to me...Spicer was trying to point out that Assad, unlike Hitler, used gas in a *combat* scenario. He worded his comment poorly (and who hasn't done *that* on occasion?) and now the Trump Derangement Crowd is attacking.
Note to x
First, I am on Spicer’s side. But, second , this Hitler
comparison meme dispute has occurred over and over and
over again. When a Republican invokes Hitler he/she has
a much higher chance of getting crucified for it. We
all know it and so should Spicer. Personally, I am not
beyond making what some would choose to consider an
insensitive remark, especially in these hyper PC times.
However, this is truly low hanging fruit. The good news
for Spicer is that, true to form, the libtards including
the media lackies over play their hand and Sean will make
it thru OK.
Finally, my college degree is in history and I remember
enough about history issues to know that before displaying
my ignorance on national TV, I should do a little
review of my sources. This applies to all the abuse of
history done by the left, as well as, the right.
