The only thing that keeps this an issue is that the powers that be want it to be an issue. If they wanted to get rid of the controversy over methods there is a simple answer - nitrogen. Put the condemned in a room. Pump it full of pure nitrogen for half an hour. The condemned won't even know they they died. Who can object to nitrogen, considering the gas is already 78% of the atmosphere that you breathe every day. Personally, I don't really care if the execution method is painless or not, but if you want to get beyond it, we know how. The fact that they don't, means they want to keep the controversy going, for their own purposes.

If they wanted to get rid of the controversy over methods there is a simple answer - nitrogen. Yep ... simple, cheap, effective, painless, nontoxic.

Send the condemned to a Planned Parenthood office.
Liberals cannot complain.
