A senior military officer revealed that the head of the Al Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf terror group, who carries a $1 million cash reward of his head offered by the US, planned to surrender because he was “already old.”
Lieutenant General Carlito Galvez, the head of the military’s Western Mindanao Command (Westmincon), said the plan of Radulah Sahiron, the Abu Sayyaf leader, to surrender was relayed to him by Moro elders from the island province of Sulu.
Aside from his advancing age, Galvez said Sahiron also expressed concern over the unabated “search and destroy” operation launched by the military against him and his cohorts in Sulu and Basilan where they operate with impunity.
But the one-armed Sahiron has imposed conditions if he decides to surrender, one of which was his refusal to be turned over to American authorities who have offered a $1 million bounty on his head, according to Galvez.
He said: “Sahiron wants to surrender provided he will not be turned over to the US or to other countries.”

The best I can tell the Philippines bought those helicopters from Russia. I don’t think Obama would sell them any.

Obviously, the Philippine government hasn’t read the memo that violence against these people only serves as a recruiting tool for them. They need good-paying jobs.
