The college publishers would have taken our book, but only if we showed that Hamilton, Madison and Jay were involved in a homosexual menage a trois or were secretly Marxists well ahead of their time.
We're stalled right now.
You Should Spend the Day Sightseeing |
If you want to know about something, you need to go and try it out for yourself. You love to get in the mix. You love to explore and just see what's out there. You find a lot through spontaneity and randomness. You know how to travel anywhere, including in your own city. You can see any old place through fresh eyes. |
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
You Should Spend the Day Reading
You are one smart cookie, and most of your smarts have come from teaching yourself things.
You are a glutton for information, and you read almost everything that you can get your hands on.
For you, there is nothing more luxurious than spending a day among books, articles, and maybe your own written word.
You travel the world, meet new friends, live many lives, and earn new degrees simply through reading!
Seems I should be spending my time reading. I didn’t answer two questions because they weren’t in my realm of life.
The problem with the academic publishers turned out to be that (1) most of them want to publish their own faculty first, and (2) Pub' and I don't have a PhD in history between us. That would only matter in the academic publishing market, but there you are.
If we do have to self-publish this baby it's gonna be a load. It's at 1400 pages right now.
We’ll have plenty of time Sunday to check out some sights. Might go to the National Archives. Too bad the Supreme Court is closed Sunday. Of course there will be time for “Book Club” in the evening.

Ben Franklin was a preachers son and loved the ladies and running around in his birthday suit.
Still he was a brilliant guy
I always learn by doing.
I rarely learn immediately from books, and then BLAMMO! Youre doing it and the light comes on
Another warmish day here, I mowed and fertilized lawn at son's place after some early morning grocery shopping sprees.
Relaxing now, you and the kittehs have a good day? Howz the expectant kitty mom doing?
Hustling was me also. I have never been career ‘successful’ (I am still a salaried schmuck) but I am always busy.
I got a three day pass and went to Seattle. I visited the Space Needle, 50 years ago.
Permission granted, Conor!
Welcome aboard!
Good to see you tonight! :)
I avoided salaried all my life.
Salaried Non Exempt worked for a quarter of a century.
Howdy, PRO!
Sounds like you had a pretty good day. Got the shopping out of the way and had time for yard work, which I know you enjoy. Glad the weather behaved itself for ya.
I took Pixie to the vet this afternoon because she had a lot of blood in her stool last night. Eek! We’re limited on what can be done because she’s pregnant but she’s got antibiotics and probiotics and we hope they’ll do the trick. No fever and she’s eating well so it’s nothing serious at least.
It POURED on us the whole way to the vet and back. The rain was welcome but dang, it was almost too much at once! Supposed to do pretty much the same tomorrow so now that “Face Off” just ended, I’m about to head out to get the grocery shopping done tonight. No rain in sight.

Sounds like those guys are a bunch of elitist snobs that have an agenda to revise history.
It does sound like you have quite a dilemma!
Yep..that’s you all right! And me! We need to do more of it...in Maine! :)
Well, except for the company of all the kittehs, I’ll bet you’d love that! LOL!
