Seemed together on the air. He did some good things especially for our vets. But behind the scenes I recall his marriage reached a nasty conclusion. I also imagine the arrogance and power of success could have brought him down. It seems like Fox was in an untenable position. I suppose we’ll never know for sure.
Strange “math” indeed! How the mighty have fallen! I’m always wary of any sexual harassment charge... as it’s a fave tactic of the Left against non-Lefties (O’Reilly is more old Truman Democrat than conservative). So I wonder what the truth and reality are? Wonder how his long-time loyal fans will react?
Maybe if Bill O. changes his name to Clinton if he could skate on this... two Bill Clintons now, both immune from sexual harassment charges. Gets curiouser and curiouser don’t it!?!
O’Reilly’s exaggerated reports of the Buenos Aires riot are largely claims that could be argued away by reasonable people on semantics. The claims on Fox News and in his Kennedy books, on the other hand, that he was outside the Florida house where Lee Harvey Oswald friend George de Mohrenschildt was staying when he killed himself in 1977 have been widely debunked. As has a story told multiple times about seeing nuns get shot in the back of the head in El Salvador while he was there covering the civil war there for CBS News, when in actuality he now admits to having arrived after the event and was only referring to ‘images’ of the assassination. The killing books alone are riddled with historical and factual inaccuracies, he always talks about wanting to separate myth from history, but I seriously don’t think he knows the difference.
