I reprimand all people who call me ma’am. Growing up, my mother did not allow us kids to call her ma’am. I totally get it.
In 1978 I was walking in a park in PA. I saw a woman on a log who was watching her hubby and some teens fishing. I stopped and said “Ma’am, DO NOT move.” She stood up and started yelling about me calling her ma’am and “don’t tell me what.....” That was when the rattler nailed her above the knee. I said “ Have a nice day”. and continued on my walk. They were a mile or two away from the parking lot. Never heard what happened to her.
