Activision officially unveiled the next Call of Duty game this morning. Call of Duty: World War II is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, the makers of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. That was a good game, and I'm excited to see what Sledgehammer can do with a World War II setting.
Prior to Advanced Warfare, the developer had been working on a Vietnam-era game which was ultimately scrapped when Activision promoted the studio to one of its three regular Call of Duty developers.
We know nothing about the game at this point beyond the setting and name. A livestream is coming on April 26 (next Wednesday) with Sledgehammer Games co-studio heads and founders Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield. More will be revealed during the stream.

Is there a Civil War version?.................
But will it have the trade mark Nazi Zombies? I’ve played all the COD series of games. But really love the Zombie game extras.
“Is there a Civil War version?.................”
I’d actually buy it if that were to ever happen ... That’d require some thinking outside of the box to make it fun though ... something that big studios won’t take much of a risk on these days.
It would be a huge seller, especially in The South, IF you could choose which side to be on........................
I loved Wolfenstein...............
I preferred the Medal of Honor series (all but their last one) to CoD.
A civil war version where you have modern weapons and everyone else has period weapons would be interesting.
Didn’t ever make it that far, but a friend did................

...I kind of thought you meant the present one.
I really would like one where you could punch obnoxious, bottle-throwing Moldie-locks looking Leftists. Repeatedly.
I played CoD World at War (the best of the series, IMHO) with my son last night. Man, I sucked. Lol

1 2017 platoon of Marines vs. Santa Ana at the Alamo
1 2017 armored corps and 1 fighter wing vs. Nazi Germany.
1 company of 2017 IDF infantry vs. the Roman legions invading Jerusalem.
US vs. USSR in June, 1945 (not anachronistic, but interesting as Hell to game that one)
USS Nimitz vs. invading Jap Zeroes (had to throw that in).
Those, and a whole host of others, would be very entertaining.
I saw a Civil War first person shooter in early access somewhere. I’m not sure who’s making it- some indie studio but it looks promising.
There was nothing wrong with Activision’s COD2. Call of Duty World War 2. They polluted the later COD games with too much visual clutter & bells and whistles...COD2 was the best and most intuitive, imo.
They are trying to make inroads on the “Battlefield” franchise? Good luck...”BF” has had good WW-II, Vietnam, etc. games for awhile now, starting with “Battlefield: 1942” in 2002. Loved that game!

“Eva, auf wiedersehen!”
I still have Castle Wolfenstein from Muse Software. I don’t have a 5.25 drive, though.
I had the original in 1982 from Muse software on my Atari 800 on floppy disk. Schveinhunt...
The original 2-D version?
