Most ferals really don’t go far outside of their own neighborhoods...quite apart from the armed response they’d get, they’re literally on unfamiliar ground, and they know they can’t blend into their surroundings for an escape.
There's not much left of traditional black communities these days. The twin epidemics of crack cocaine and violent street gangs in the late 70s - early 80s, sparked an exodus out of those communities which continues to this day.
Today, so-called 'black' communities, are heavily inundated with hispanic immigrants, many of them illegal. Their presence has sped the trend of blacks dispersing to other areas.
In my region of North Texas, I see blacks walking the streets in some of the most unlikely areas. Its like some unseen hand is slowly mixing the different ingredients of a gigantic salad.
