It has built more than 150 mosques (albeit in a country that has about 800,000), a huge free university in Jakarta, and several Arabic language institutes; supplied more than 100 boarding schools with books and teachers (albeit in a country estimated to have between 13,000 and 30,000 boarding schools); brought in preachers and teachers; and disbursed thousands of scholarships for graduate study in Saudi Arabia. All this adds up to a deep network of Saudi influence.
“The advent of Salafism in Indonesia is part of Saudi Arabia’s global project to spread its brand of Islam throughout the Muslim world,” said Din Wahid, an expert on Indonesian Salafism at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) in Jakarta.
Salaf is Arabic for “forebear,” and Salafism is a Sunni movement that advocates a return to the Islamic traditions of the Prophet Muhammad and his contemporaries. .. it took particular root in Saudi Arabia in the hands of the influential preacher Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. Al-Wahhab’s alliance with the House of Saud in 1744 cemented Wahhabism as the spiritual backbone of the Saudi Arabian state. And in the 20th century, Saudi Arabia, which had become fabulously oil-rich, started to invest its considerable resources in propagating its ideology abroad.

That's right. There aren't any. There never have been. There never will be.
Islam is codified violence. It was founded by a violent man who used violent means to conquer a violent people. And when that was not enough, those subjugated to Islam tore a bloody path across Asia and Africa and tried their damndest to lay claim to Europe.
Wherever Islam has gone, death and war has closely followed.
Those who adhere to Islam will never surrender the tenets of their religion. The same tenets that places Islam firmly at odds with the west, with ALL civilized peoples. Muslims "submit". They submit to their teachers, their preachers, their imams, who produce NOTHING but affirmation and reaffirmation that ALL must submit to Allah and his prophet.
"Islam". It means "to submit".
Submit what, exactly?
Nothing less than the mind God gave you, to think for yourself and to possess a conscience.
There is no sense of conscience in Islam. No "religion" that has advocated violence since its inception can claim to possess any shred of moral superiority.
Islam. It means "to submit". Submit to the void. Submit to emptiness. Submit to nihilism. Submit to the death of one's self.
The Founder of one faith died so that all may have life. Mohammed, the founder of another "faith", preached death to those who would not give up to him.
One is a Person of grace. The other demands perfect obeisance. One gives life. The other requires self-obliteration.
Not all the money they can pour into their efforts can make the Saudis, or anyone else, change that.
Unfortunately the Trump admin seems to be just as friendly with the Saudis as all of the other admins of the last 50+ years.

Just last week or the week before that an article posted here about Tillerson promoting US investment in KSA.
Wahhabi Islam is a cultural poison the political elites are injecting into the blood vessels of western civilizations and eastern civilizations. They should be converted to something else or exterminated.

Curious how the article makes no mention that Indonesia is a multi-religion nation. Muslims are the majority on Java, the most populous island. But Christians are by far the majority on Borneo/Kalimantan. Borneo used to be the stereotype for wildmen and cannibals.
Now Borneo has a higher literacy rate than the Muslim islands. It has more educational institutions. It has significant commerce with other Christian nations as well as non-Christian nations.
And then there is Bali. Hindu dominated Bali has smaller land mass and population. But it is the most advanced educationally and economically. It is very significant in the Indonesian economy.
There are frequent religious disputes, that sometimes result in violence, between the Muslims and non-Muslim communities ... and between individuals.
The article is not complete when it ignores the multi-religious nature of Indonesia. When an article misses half the story is it half-fake?

What about Hezbollah? pro-Iranian Twelver Shi’ite? They did the Marine Barracks and the Embassy bombings in Beirut in 83’, and what about Buenos Aires?
