“In 2015, Corey Jones, who possessed a lawful concealed carry permit, was leaving a band gig at 3:00 AM when his car broke down in an undesirable part of town. When a white van with tinted windows pulled in front of him and a man wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a baseball cap exited, Jones apparently grabbed his firearm. This move to lawfully protect himself was answered without warning by the plain-clothed law enforcement officer driving the van, shooting Jones dead.”

If that happened to someone in my family, I would bear a grudge for the rest of my life. Just saying.

The one ray of sunshine is that there are now more than 400 million guns held by ordinary citizens in this country http://gunwatch.blogspot.com/2017/01/2016-record-year-for-nics-background.html (dig down about 1/2 way through the article for this number)...and counting. No one is going to be able to take away those guns, so someday the Leftists are simply going to have to accept that those guns, and their owners, are not going away (well, certainly not for free in any but very small numbers).

Now, if President Trump would devote some attention to appointing some judges, we could fill 19 Circuit Court positions and 80+ District Court positions by the end of the year...which would restore some sanity to the system. That, and the possible break-up of the 9th Circus and adding more judges to the DC Circuit.

The relevance here between the two comments of yours is that it illuminates the difference between how state actors and ordinary citizens utilize firearms. The police have no scruples whatsoever about killing you. Any ordinary citizen who did the same thing would spend years in court and most likely jail. For the police, it's most likely a paid vacation for a month, then back on the job. Until we begin to value our own lives as much as they do theirs, nothing is going to change.

BTW, I wouldn't bear a grudge. I'd get even. There is no doubt in my mind about that, and I really don't give a damn what the consequences are.
