The Nuclear Option: Hey Congress, Fund the Dang Wall
breitbart.com ^ | 26 Apr 2017 | CHARLES HURT

A full decade after voting to construct a secure barrier along the U.S. border with Mexico, Congress continues to refuse to lay out the money required to build the damned wall.

This, even after the stunning upset in last year’s elections by the juggernaut presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump, who won the presidency on a clarion vow to voters that he would once and for all build a wall along the border. Mr. Trump’s historic upset came after years and years of both Democrat and Republican politicians talking tough about illegal immigration and promising to crack down on the porous border, yet refusing to actually fix the problem.

This wall, Mr. Trump promised during the campaign, would finally halt not only illegal immigration but also the highly destructive drugs, gangs and slavery pouring over the southern border.

Despite the clear message from voters last year, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi dismisses the wall as “immoral, expensive and unwise.”

Her comment made history as the moment Nancy Pelosi finally discovered morality. Also noteworthy is that it was the first time Nancy Pelosi has every found anything to be too “expensive” to stick to the poor, innocent American taxpayer.

As for her mention of wisdom? Well, clearly, that was some kind of typo or another one of her random brain sizzles.

It wasn’t so long ago that Ms. Pelosi’s fellow Democrats were all for the immoral and expensive. Her party’s last two standard-bearers — former President Barack Obama and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton — both voted in favor of the so-called “Secure Fence Act of 2006.”

After passing the construction of that barrier into law, Congress balked at actually paying for it and ultimately scrapped much of it

Why would the GOP controlled Congress go against their cheap labor express globalist overloads? Face it, past GOP support for building the wall was pure pandering for votes. Like votes against Obamacare, the GOP knew full well building the wall would never be enacted.

It is time to kill the Senate filibuster. Repeal Obamacare, and if there is a replacement at all make it a pure GOP replacement. Fund the wall, even if there is not even one Democrat/Socialist vote for it. Eliminate useless FedGov spending. Let’s make this year count!

"Nancy Pelosi dismisses the wall as 'immoral, expensive and unwise.'”

Start construction of the wall immediately while simultaneously working the funding, even if it means replacing the initial effort with upgraded sections at a later date. By then Mexico might want to purchase the old portions to erect on their southern border.

Encourage pelosi to inspect the southern side of the wall when it is fully functional.

“Encourage pelosi to inspect the southern side of the wall when it is fully functional.”

Why is Trump quailing now? Who has his ear? Ivanka? Where is the man I voted for...nonexistent anymore? Wanting to appease everyone...we all know that never works.

BUILD the WALL; pay for it with cartel monies. Who gets that money, anyway? Make it work to keep at least this campaign promise.

Kinda figured this was going to happen. It boils down to money. Free chicken in every pot and I will set you free stuff. Trying to get 14 billion out of money transfers aint gonna work. If Jose is sending a couple of hundred dollars to Mexico via wire transfer he’ll stop doing that and hire a mule to take it by bus, boat or plane. He wants to send 500 down to Mrs. Jose so he pays a legal 100 in cash to take 500 in cash down and so on.

Mules are going to make alot of cash. It isn’t going to stop on the south border either. The Canadian border is wide open.

It is time to kill the Senate filibuster.

Perhaps. But the next time the Democrats have control, we'll get single payer health care, national gun confiscation, elimination of all school choice programs, open borders, loss of tax exemptions for all church sponsored schools, hospitals, charitable organizations, etc. that don't fully embrace the most radical aspects of the LGTBQ agenda, reversal of Citizens United and rigging of the electoral system, etc., etc., etc. There are some pretty good reasons why conservatives should be leery of scrapping the filibuster.

I recognize the risks, but the filibuster will die either way. All we can do is influence how quickly that happens. Also, I suspect the far-left will not try for nationalized medical care again if we kill Obamacare, at least not soon, not after the massive losses they took over the issue and then no long-term expansion of big government.

National gun confiscation has to be incremental, starting with formal or de facto registration. Otherwise, they won’t know where to look, and that will get VERY ugly immediately. By the time they get guns registered, a real American will be back in the White House, ordering the registration lists shredded.

Even open borders can die as an issue. If President Trump really does deport 11 million illegals and makes stopping all new illegals a priority so there is not another sympathetic generation of those criminals to advocate for, it will be hard to motivate another crop to come here, not when their lives can be turned upside down as soon as the rule of law is restored by another republican in the White House.

Killing the filibuster is a risk, but I think it’s worth it given today’s political climate.

Build the wall around CONgre$$, aka The Gang of 535. It should be a federal prison. Conmen/collectivists/creeps/criminals/deceivers/dolts/elitists/marxists/morons/liars/looters/progs/punks/rats/rinos/socialists/scumbags/tyrants/totalitarians and unipartarians have gutted this great republic.

20 trillion times worse than King George.

Come now, all we need in ‘18 are a FEW more ‘conservatives’ in each House; if not (c), at least (R). THEN they can do the will of the People /s *spit*
