#8 This must have happened before. Here is what we would become.

Read a story once about a race of beings that lived in lava. The surface of the earth was ‘deep, cold, outer space’ where nothing could possibly live, because it would instantly freeze into solid rock.................

It is theorized that the very center of the earth is where all the heavy elements have sunken since the formation of the earth, gold, lead, uranium, et al...............

Even if there was a massive release of CO2, there would be no dire consequences.
The warming effect of greenhouse gases is logarithmic in nature. Why? Because each GHG can only absorb certain wavelengths of reflective shortwave energy. The energy from particles can not be absorbed twice, so once all energy is absorbed, that can be absorbed by a particular GHG, that GHG has reached a level of saturation.
CO2 has nearly reached saturation, additional CO2 will not have much warming effect. It will lead to more efficient photosynthesis, and an increased 'greening' of the Earth.
Dr Murry Salby does an excellent job of presenting the above facts. https://judithcurry.com/2016/08/10/murry-salbys-latest-presentation/
Dr Salby is often criticized that he has not published his research, but they never mention why. Dr Salby is a leading atmospheric physicist, who spent years studying the carbon cycle. His conclusions were not only was increased atmospheric CO2 not responsible for warming, CO2 levels were not increasing because of the burning of fossil fuels. Salby was able to show that increased CO2 levels FOLLOW increases in temperature. Basically that natural CO2 sinks released increased levels of CO2 as the temperature rose. After years of research, Salby traveled to Germany to present his findings, the university he worked at cancelled his return flight. They then terminated his contract, and confiscated his research. Salby can not publish his research, because it has been confiscated by the university.

Just how much flora and fauna and friggin dinosaurs were there anyway? Must been gazillions. ;-)
Whatever volume there was, plus bacteria and other little critters that probably out-massed the bigger behemoths, times 165 million years.
Yea, it's a lot.

Yes, I’m thinking Yellowstone supervolcano scale event to get something like that into the atmosphere.

At 2 lbs of CO2 per barrel, that's 50 trillion barrels of beer. So much for my Peak Beer theory...

There you have it! I certainly wouldn’t want to be in, say, Iowa or Nebraska or the Dakotas.

The volume of the earths upper mantle carbon reservoir is now estimated to be 100 trillion metric tons, which will gradually make its way to the earths surface through volcanic eruptions and slowly contribute to global warming, we are told, unless there should be a sudden release which could have dire consequences. That "sudden release" will blot out the sunlight and result in an ice age, making us yearn for global warming! The few who survive, that is.
