Senate Republicans said Thursday they won't vote on the House-passed bill to repeal and replace Obamacare, but will write their own legislation instead.

A Senate proposal is now being developed by a 12-member working group. It will attempt to incorporate elements of the House bill, senators said, but will not take up the House bill as a starting point and change it through the amendment process. ...

Does anyone know if the Washington Examiner is reliable? I looked over the headlines and it doesn't look like a liberal rag (for example, "Bernie Sanders loses it after Trump praises Australia's healthcare", "Maryland announces surging rates on Obamacare exchange", etc).

If the Senate takes this and turns it into Obamacare 2.0 I'm going to be so angry.

They’re reliable, but they do ‘juice up’ the story.

The Senate will write a bill that’s the same (or as close as they can), pass it and go to conference over the differences.

There will be no Obamacare repeal and replace.

There was never going to be one, ever.

There are easily 80 votes against the House bill, and even THAT was nowhere close to repeal and replace.

Obamacare will endure beyond this congress, and maybe for as long as any of us lives.

That was the expected process all along. But the permanently outraged will use it as an excuses to say woe is me again. We'll get there step by step. This is just the start.

“Obamacare will endure beyond this congress, and maybe for as long as any of us lives.”

The upside: under Obamacare, “as long as any of us lives” won’t be as long of a time.

((dark humor, I know))

This sounds suspiciously like the d’rats when they first brought this irksome law to light as OCare. They *Senate* wrote the bill which should, by Constitutional law, begin in the House (as a tax bill), NOT in the Senate. Of course, this was disregarded at the time; perhaps this will now be standard practice?

I guess that would be a good reason for not to all the Democrats back in charge of everything again. If that happens again, we'll end up single payer.

The GOP needs to be destroyed for their deliberate malfeasance.

Don’t vote for the Republicans if they don’t vote on this legislation or continue to have large budgets. What’s the point if it’s the same as when Obama was president?

0bamacare has revealed the GOP as a total fraud. For SIX YEARS all they’ve said is “repeal and replace.” You’d think they would have legislation on the shelf all ready to go. There was certainly plenty of time to to reach a consensus on a comprehensive plan. Then the time comes and...

...nothing.

Total frauds.

According to the “I’m Just A Bill” episode of Schoolhouse Rock that I remember, this is normal.

House passes one, Senate passes one, then they reconcile.

So I wouldn’t be alarmed.

Article posted here about a week ago -Ann Coulter- seemed to make good sense. Leave Obamacare to avoid court challenges and write a new one with across state lines provision and choose the options you want, need, and Obamacare can handle the few who want it, with pre existing conditons, etc.
