During his final year in office, President Obama's team significantly expanded efforts to search National Security Agency intercepts for information about Americans, distributing thousands of intelligence reports across government with the unredacted names of U.S. residents during the midst of a divisive 2016 presidential election.

The data, made available this week by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, provides the clearest evidence to date of how information accidentally collected by the NSA overseas about Americans was subsequently searched and disseminated after President Obama loosened privacy protections to make such sharing easier in 2011 in the name of national security. A court affirmed his order.
The revelations are particularly sensitive since the NSA is legally forbidden from directly spying on Americans and its authority to conduct warrantless searches on foreigners is up for renewal in Congress later this year. And it comes as lawmakers investigate President Trump's own claims that his privacy was violated by his predecessor during the 2016 election.

In all, government officials conducted 30,355 searches in 2016 seeking information about Americans in NSA intercept metadata, which include telephone numbers and email addresses. The activity amounted to a 27.5 percent increase over the prior year and more than triple the 9,500 such searches that occurred in 2013, the first year such data was kept.
The government in 2016 also scoured the actual contents of NSA intercepted calls and emails for 5,288 Americans, an increase of 13 percent over the prior year and a massive spike from the 198 names searched in 2013.

I think this is significant. Obama cornered the Intel Market to decide the election. Hillary was to follow up and therefore end the opposition party(REP). It would have been a total takeover with all the money, all the Intel and numerous ways to shut down any opposition for many years.
The greatest fraud ever perpetrated against the United State is allowed to continue, thanks to the current Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government.

Don’t worry folks, Trey Gowdy announced yesterday that he will hold investigations and hearings to hide and bury the evidence of wrongdoing, because there are certain high ranking members of CONgress from both parties that are deeply involved.
Along with Obama using the IRS to target folks, Obama needs to be tried or Trump needs to do the same thing since the Justice Department will do nothing.
It’s up to We The People to “demand” that this be investigated and prosecuted or it won’t get done.
What has Gowdy actually gotten done? Just asking. They talk and talk on and off camera, but nothing has been done about Zero, Hitlery, Lerner, Holder, Jarrett, Rice, Lynch, et al.

Like all these “congresspeople” who get to talk in front of a hearing room full of people and the media, Gowdy has the gift of gab. But sadly, as they say down where you’re from, “he’s all horn and no driveshaft!” Congress should be restricted to “holding hearings” only on legislation. They should be forced to have the DOJ or an independent prosecutor handle any issues involving criminal activity, because instead of being a legal proceeding seeking the truth and exacting punishment, congressional hearings do neither, and they often result in muddying the legal waters so badly that the targets get off scot free.
Criminals all. Unfortunately, most won’t see any prison time for their illegalities.

It's funny, because Watergate was nothing but Nixon trying to do, in a much smaller way, what Johnson and Kennedy had done. I suspect that if Trump tried to do what Obama did, a whistle blower from the deep state would expose it and Trump would be impeached by Ryan and convicted by McCain and Linda, as they spout off high-minded platitudes on Sunday talk shows about the threat to democracy.
Gowdy has actually been very busy. He has been studying hard how to be a perfect substitute for Paul Ryan as speaker. :)
