Demi Moore has been sued over the death of a 21-year-old man who drowned in her pool two years ago.
Back in July 2015, Edenilson Steven Valle was found dead at the bottom of Moores pool after a small party at her Los Angeles home. The actress, 54, was not at home at the time. She later told PEOPLE in a statement that she was in absolute shock over the unthinkable tragedy.
Authorities did not suspect foul play in the incident and determined the death to be accidental.
Initially, Valles parents, Jorge and Maria, filed a wrongful-death suit against Tree House Trust, which owns the property, as well as Moores personal assistant and another individual, who threw the party together.
Moore has now been added as a defendant in the case, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. The Valle family is blaming the actress for allegedly failing to place depth markers near what they claim was an excessively deep pool. They also allege that rocks by the pools edge were a tripping hazard, and that alcohol and the pools dangerously high temperature (allegedly 101 degrees at the time) were factors in his death.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Edenilson told fellow guests and hosts that he didnt know how to swim and that he allegedly fell in the pool after fellow guests left the property.
I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got this devastating news, Moore previously told PEOPLE in a statement. The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy, and my heart goes out to this young mans family and friends.
The Valle family is seeking damages of more than $25,000.

Seems like he was too dumb to swim.
What makes them think he could read or was literate in sign language or semaphores?
Case dismissed...
If you can’t swim, it’s your duty to yourself not to fall into the pool. Stay away from it. How hard is that to figure out?
A six year old kid? Okay. A 21 year old man? LOL
This is what I consider culling the herd.
You would not believe the code compliance I have to ensure in order to remodel an existing pool.
Alarms on every door that accesses the back yard and they have to be dedicated to that door (the common house alarm that beeps when you open a door does not meet pool code), self-closing gates with latches between 54 and 60 inches off the ground...and inaccessible from outside the gate.
Dual pump intakes at the bottom of the pool. No diving board.
They will even enter my home to ensure I have a CO2 alarm...because EVERY permit pulled/inspection requires they check the CO2 alarm.
Friggin’ California.
It really is amazing how much they demand.
I feel sorry for folks trying to make a living in this state.
Lol! Did they do a tox screen?
Lol! Why would you need a CO2 alarm? CO I can understand. How do you get enough CO2 to be lifethreatening?
Countersue for tresspassing, frivolous lawsuit, defamation, seeking to enrich oneself by death of another family member by their own stupid actions.
Sounds like they were using the pool to cook lobsters. /s
Damages of only $25K? Must be a typo; likely $25M.
Deep pockets approach.
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a back yard pool with depth markers. Not recently anyway. You rarely see a pool with diving board these days. The requirements would make the pool too expensive or the typical back yard is not big enough.
Translation. Demi has money. Let’s try to get some.
Vote with your feet.It will never get better.
I assumed they chose a low figure, so it would be cheaper for her to settle, than to fight it in court. If they’re paying the Lawyer with the other suits, then this would be gravy. Just a guess..
Damages of more than $25,000. It could still be for millions.
Just a FYI: In California Superior Civil Court, you can sue for under $25,000 which is called Limited Civil and has a lesser filing fee, or over $25,000 which is called Unlimited Civil, with a filing fee of almost $500. So this is an Unlimited Civil case. There is no way all they’re looking to get is $25,000. The $25,000 figure is just the type of filing, Unlimited Civil.
Cash grab, pure and simple.
