What is irritating is that John McCain has a lot of nerve preaching to someone -- anyone -- about the imperative of "values".

I have no problem with that statement. If we were not doing that already, we would not be trading with the commies in China as they adhere to no American values starting with free exercise of religion or the right to keep and bear arms. Given the move to remove arms from the US public it is almost as if we are adhering to the values elsewhere.
When the progressives in their infinite wisdom passed the 17th Amendment
they provided no remedy to deal with rogue senators like McCain and Graham that do not represent their states.

Other countries are demanding we act according to their dictates. And by what right do they make that demand.
The Devil frequently mocks Christians for doing the right thing but with perhaps un-Christian tactics. As if the Devil cares about your fealty to Christian values.
Same thing with liberals. They have no problem violating American values as long as they agree with liberal values but let their values disagree with American values and the Left will be right there with a willing excuse.
With that one statement McCain shows EXACTLY why this nation is in such a messed up state. “Values” are whatever the progressives define them to the latest fad. Policies and written law is what we are suppose to follow.

If “values” overrode policy, we’d have troops on the ground in Nigeria, Sudan, Pakistan, Thailand, Congo, Venezuela and about a dozen other countries that are experiencing repression and humanitarian crisis. Come to think of it, that pretty much is what McCain and Graham would want if they were in charge.
