A convicted killer, sentenced to life in prison two decades ago, wants his case reviewed.
Robert Wayne Lonardo says his lawyer didn't tell him about the possibility of a plea deal.
Lonardo was convicted in 1994 of killing Marianne Pembrook in Waterville.
Prosecutors say he shot her while he was burglarizing her home.
Lonardo's lawyer says his client would have taken the 60-year plea deal if he had known, because he might have been able to get early release.
Prosecutors say too much time has passed.
I’m tired of these murderers whining.Somebody get a rope.
I think LWOP is much worse than lethal injection.
Let’s ask Marianne Pembrook if she would have accepted a shut-up-and-I-won’t-kill-you deal. Oops, sorry, I guess she’s unable to take the deal.
Put him out of our misery by hanging the SOB. His ‘life’ is not worth our money. Give it the survivors of the woman he murdered.
No do overs.
No backsies.
Too bad they didn’t hang him.
How about we make a new deal, he gets early release and there’s open season, anyone who kills him will not be charged.
It has my vote.
A rope is too quick. But it’ll do.
