How things have changed. Only nine days ago, James Comey, then director of the FBI, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on FBI oversight that he had never been an anonymous source for news reports related to the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential race.
Comey further testified that he never authorized anyone else at the FBI to serve as an anonymous source in news media coverage of that investigation or the agency’s probe into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

Comey deserved to be fired.
Trump made the right decision.
Mainstream media all over this.
Meanwhile Comey will not the testifying before the Senate Committee next week...
It certainly looks like Comey simply told everyone a different story, probably the one he thought they wanted to hear. And he thought he would get away with it because he could claim to be protecting secret or confidential information. I bet insiders are already backing away from Comey. Ignoramuses like the media might keep it up, but Congressional leaders know by now or will soon be convinced.
And if he goes before the Senate and someone confronts him with the leaks, he’ll either have to come clean or keep on lying. Either way, he’s done.
Amazing to me that he’s been able to enjoy this “non partisan” descriptor all this time. The Dem’s loved him because he stood up to Ashcroft, when the latter was in the hospital. He was the hero to the Left. Then, he’s the devil in a Brooks Brothers suit, for what he did to clinton. Now, back to being a hero for the Left for standing up to the President.
The whole time, he’s nothing but a Left wing, elitist, that has made millions from his various roles in government.
Comey didn’t leak anything about the dinner. The source is 2 anonymous “friends” of Comey who told them not to repeat what he told them as long as he was at the FBI. That is to say they are nonexistent people made up by the writer.
In other words, this is totally made up fake news like “Rosenstein threatened to quit” and “Comey asked for more resources”.

I know. More anonymous sources saying bad things about Trump in the media.
But Comey swore under oath that he never authorized anyone else to serve as an anonymous source in news media.
The media lies. Comey either told the media directly, lied to his “anonymous friends” or the media just made it all up.
But I haven’t seen Comey denying the story.
I don’t think Trump was suggesting to Comey the the WH may have recorded their dinner. He was reminding him that one or more of NSA, CIA, FBI had probably surveiled it....and that he, Comey, and anything he said that night would eventually, very likely be unmasked/leaked.
DJT would NOT have recorded the conversation, Comey was probably hoisted on his own petard.
Article does not say that. It says “At one point in the article, the Times describes the sources as “associates” of Comey’s.”

Anonymous sources who were not there tell the media what happened in a private conversation at a private dinner.
The story given to the media is not true and attacks Trump.
What could have happened.
1. The media made it all up.
2. Comey lied to friends who passed it along to the media.
3. Comey told others to tell story to media.
4. Comey told the story himself. Media made up the anonymous friends.
5. People out to get Trump gave story to media and said it came from Comey.
Not a defender of Comey, but if as stated in the article title, the leak was after the testimony, there would be no perjury.
These activists journalists are just making things up, I believe, because they know they can’t be forced to disclose their sources.
