The maniac motorist behind the deadly Times Square rampage was hopped up on drugs at the time, Mayor Bill de Blasio confirmed Friday.
“We know there was some kind of drugs in his system,” de Blasio said on WNYC radio of 26-year-old Richard Rojas, who was charged with murder, 20 counts of attempted murder and aggravated vehicular homicide for the Thursday carnage.
Rojas, a Navy veteran with a criminal history, barreled into crowds of people on the sidewalk at the Crossroads of the World with his Honda Accord, speeding on Seventh Avenue from West 42nd Street before crashing the car into a stanchion at West 45th Street.
