Add in the leftwing media’s efforts to destroy the Republicans, conservatives, the Constitution, and America’s leadership role in the world, I’d say we are seeing a “CONVERGENCE” of the Marxist/communist movements; the white liberal media elite and their far-left organizations (and media bias, fake news and Soviet style disinformation); the new racists (i.e. anti-white movements including BLM, the Black Congressional Caucus, radical black preachers - Wright, Jackson Jr, the Reparationists - Ogletree, Holder, Obama, etc); and possible Soviet/Russian leftist sympathizers who have been deep under the radar, who now are arising with sophisticated “disinformation” and “black/white propaganda operations against the Trump administriont).
NEVER EVER underestimate the Marxist Underground parallel movements in America. They’ve been down there for long periods of time, only emerging like cicadas when it is time to pull off some type of anti-American propaganda operation, and then disappear until the next time.
Some of these people have been in the mainstream media for decades and only since Bush Jr’s administration have they begun to surface as far-left propagandists and faith-in-government destroyers.
Nobody in Vietnam believed that Dan Rather was anything than a self-serving, anti-American prima donna for the Communist Broadcasting System. Peter Arnett and Peter Jennings were looked on as anti-American outsiders, and eventually proved that to be true with their biased, slanted, and destructive writings.
Look at the Washington Post’s coverage of the Marxist Sandinista revolution in Nicaragua. Between WP Foreign Reporter (now Foreign Affairs Editor) Karen De Young, and WW2 fake CO and protege’ of the far-left Drew Pearson, one Jack Anderson, re their writings, one would never know that all 9 “commandants” of the FSLN were openly avowed Marxists of the Cuban and Maoist types.
The same for the complete coverup of the Marxist/communist leadership of South Africa when the ANC (African National Congress) and its hidden Soviet masters of the Communist Party of South Africa (CPSA), led by KGB operative Joe Slovo and Ruth Slovo, among others (Makatini, Tambo, etc), took power from the white Apartheid government.
Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe is not referred to much as a hardcore psychopathic communist mass murderer as he is now being referred to as a tired old freedom fighter (who, incidentally, has turned a once productive country into a Marxist cesspool and prison camps).
Need I say anything about how the NY Times and the Wash. Post covered Communist Cuba, the murderous Che Guervara, and the Castro brothers Stalinists of that island prison?
The list is long and I could go on forever. Just look at who in the media is leading the “fake news” attacks and rumor inuendos attacks on Pres. Trump and his administration. Add in the Democrats in Congress who lie like psychopaths on LSD about everything and cover up the truth about Benghazi, Fast & Furious, the corruption and congressional contempt actions at the IRS and VA, the complete inept leadership of the Dept. of Homeland Security under Jeh Johnson (read Phil Haney’s writings), the corruption of the Clintons from their accepting millions of dollars from the Mafia (LIUNA, etc) in the mid-1990’s to their Foundation, hidden servers, destroyed documents, and utter refusal to tell the truth about anything.
Solyndra anyone? Solar Farm Panels that kill thousands of birds. Wind Turbine towers that do the same and produce the equivalent of a fart in a hurricane of power compared to one coal-fired modern plant?
The corruption at the top of the EPA is like the tip of an iceberg. Gold King mine disaster anyone?
The deliberate destruction of our military leadership by Obama and his effeminate civilian turncoats, with the deballing of the JCS, the disasterous gender problems in the Navy, pisspoor PC leaders at the AF Academy, some at the Naval Academy and even a few at West Point and Quantico.
NONE OF THIS HAPPENED BY ACCIDENT! Now we need to expose those enemies and their fool/stooges who did this to us.
It is time that the Republican controlled Congress started to hold some real rip-ass hearings into all of the above, and if the Democrat witnesses refuse to appear, subpoena their candy asses, arrest them for contempt of congress, and take anyway any security clearances they have while you work on taking away their jobs.
Then, and only then, will America begin to get back on the right track in terms of self-defense, economic growth, domestic sustainable power sources, and the beginning of the end of violent illegal criminals in the country.
And I haven’t even begun to get mad about the treason that is in season by the Democrat Party.

My point of view is that the press and the elected politicians are part of the same team, and if an org-chart was drawn up, no wing or department would hold a superior position. In other words, not that one department controls the other.
The press wing does appear to originate the details of the narrative, but if that falls flat with the political wing, adjustments are made. All the departments share the same general mission of singing the narrative in harmony.
It does a very good job segregating DNC leak (evidence points to Seth Rich being a leaker) from Podesta e-mail hack.
The black hats and the press are skilled at conflating all of the issues, Seth Rich murder, leaked DNC email, leaked Podesta email to either debunk one aspect, or to promote one aspect.

My parents had the misfortune of crossing paths with Soros back in the day, 1950-ish. My folks met and courted in NYC. At that time, the Yorkville section of Manhattan had a lot of eastern euro people, including Hungarians. My dad's Hungarian, and my folks enjoyed dancing and night life. I'm still putting pieces of a big puzzle together, but something transpired between my folks and Soros, and it wasn't anything good.
For anyone that has spent time reading the Wikileaks emails, none of this is a surprise. This is business as usual. It was the same thing with Progressive Media USA, they’re all receiving funds from Soros. They’re nothing more than media collusion groups to formulate the daily lies and have “a consistent message across multiple media outlets” (which was practically the mission statement of one of these groups).
The media has been exposed, the only ones listening are those that WANT the information to be true and haven’t consumed the information from the email leaks. Those people don’t realize they’re just listening to propaganda on a daily basis and still believe it’s “news”.
