On Feb. 2, the Capitol Police met with chiefs of staff for the members employing the Awans and informed them of the investigation. Following the meeting, the Awans were terminated by some of the House Democrats, but it is unclear how many have parted ways with the suspects.

Feb 15 - According to Politico, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Rep. Gregory Meeks are two Democratic lawmakers who have still not cut ties with the four. “At this time we are continuing to gather information from House officials and will determine the best approach to move forward once we have reviewed that information,” David Damron, communications director for Wasserman Schultz, said in an email when asked by POLITICO if Imran Awan was still working for the Florida Democrat.
