May was trying to keep the Manchester bombers identity secret, his Libya connection, the fact that the Brits bought him in 5 times for questioning, that fact that the British government piled money on him.

???All those things were public within hours. No evidence whatever that May was concealing them. The only thing briefly witheld - by the police, not May, till some fool leaked it - was the name: for the very good reason that they were still tracking down local members of his family whom they didn't want to tip off by revealing they had already discovered his identity.
