You ever watch an expert magician, and notice how he fools the audience? He uses misdirection.

While everyone is focused on the location where the trick is happening, he's covertly manipulating the actual trick, thus making the audience think "Wow! It's magic!"
Misdirection. That's what Trump is doing here. Comey is the shiny thing that everyone's watching. While people (especially the idiots in the media) focus on the shiny thing, Trump does more important MAGA things.
