Trump will watch Comey's testimony – with his lawyers! – but live-tweeting may not be in the cards
Comey testimony Thursday in front of the Senate will be his first on-the-record statements since the former FBI director was abruptly dismissed
Testimony has been promoted as must-see TV that no one inside or outside Washington would dare miss
White House Press Secretary cited a 'full day' on Thursday that would conveniently keep the commander in chief off Twitter
But Trump has nothing on his schedule until 12:30 pm and will reportedly be watching the hearing from the White House dining room with his lawyers
President Trump will be watching his fired FBI director's testimony with rapt attention this morning.
His closest advisers and a team of lawyers at his side, the president will camp out in the White House dining room, Bloomberg reports.
Aides did not say whether the president, whose Twitter went dark on Thursday morning, would be rebutting James Comey in real time on social media.
Trump's first event of the day is at 12:30 pm - more than two hours after James Comey takes the stand.
WH Press Secretary Sean Spicer had promised a 'full day' that would eat up the president's time. The Trump spokesman brought up the mid-day speech the president would be delivering and a meeting with governors and mayors to discuss the president's infrastructure renewal proposal.
Both are on his Thursday schedule but take place after the first hours of the Comey hearing, giving the president plenty of time to scrutinize and tweet about the former law enforcement official's account of their private conversations.
The WH has said 'the president is the most effective messenger on his agenda.' It remains to be seen whether he will take on Comey directly

You just know that the people in that room will have a sort of “checklist”.
Will he say this?
Will he deny that?
Comey makes a wrong step in front of Congress and President Trump is going to turn to someone and say: “Do we have him? Did he just screw up? Can we charge him this afternoon?”

I’ve long believed that is the wisest, best song ever written. It contains great advice for any young man smart enough to pay attention.
This is what I suggested. His lawyers need to vet those tweets. Of course, I got attacked for that suggestion.
Drudge had up a story yesterday about how Trump has avoided a problem Bill Clinton had by hiring outside counsel. It is a very very smart move.
Don’t screw it up by not listening to outside counsel!
Outside counsel should not..and probably does not ..want Trump tweeting willy nilly over Comey today.
