I’d like to believe that the Paris Accord was based on an honest mistake. But the late Stephen Schneider, a leading climate alarmist, was clear: “we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we might have.” As a result, “each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.”

This is one of the foundational areas in which the Left becomes evil. The concept is: "The ends justify the means."

You can see that they mangled science here -- but it was for a good cause.

Just so, with Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and others, you know, killing millions of people is -- I suppose -- sort of sad, but, on the bright side, you're ushering in a Utopian Age in which everyone will be so happy. So it's OK. Let the slaughter begin. It's for a good cause.

Very chilling and illustrative of why I loathe the Left. Evil may wear a pretty face but that just makes it more dangerous.

The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money . . . is gravely to be regarded.

Yet . . . we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite. - Eisenhower’s Farewell Address (better known as "the “military industrial complex” speech).
