The government of Qatar has hired John Ashcroft, the U.S. attorney general during the Sept. 11 attacks, as it seeks to rebut accusations from U.S. President Donald Trump and its Arab neighbors that it supports terrorism.

Qatar will pay the Ashcroft Law Firm $2.5 million for a 90-day period as the country seeks to confirm its efforts to fight global terrorism and comply with financial regulations including U.S. Treasury rules, according to a Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, filing on Friday with the Justice Department.

I thought Ashcroft was better than this.

Trump recently called Qatar a “funder of terrorism at a very high level.” Ashcroft evidently disagrees. Or maybe he does agree, but the $2.5 million is enough to turn him into a mercenary.

Will anyone “sell out”, so to speak, if the price is right???

Is that what we are seeing??

Yes, 2.5 million for a short period of time like that, can corrupt anyone. When these dip sticks say it isn't about the money, you can best believe it's ONLY about the money.
What I find to be ironic, is that lawyers, who are paid liars, can't do a better job of lying.

Ashcroft is terrific. I’d guess this is something to do with just giving money to conservative orgs. Even more money is no doubt being given to ‘progressive’ orgs.

Hey, that’s how ALL foreign policy is done: force, bribes or blackmail. There are no other forms of diplomacy.

Just produce the 5 terrorists Obama sent there to be watched. That’s all the proof you need.

Or perhaps Ashcroft will help them get their house in order.

If they want to “clean up their act” this is a good way to start.

If Qatar is forced to choose between supporting Hamas, et. al., and remaining in in the good graces of the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the US, they will have to choose the latter.

Having Ashcroft to “walk them through the process” is not a bad idea for Qatar, the GCC, the US and Ashcroft’s law firm.

That’s an interesting take. I hope you’re right. But Qater evidently supports radical Islam. Folks like that are driven, and they won’t give it up their core beliefs just to get in the U.S.’s good graces.

So to my way of thinking either Ashcroft selling out , or he is being used as a dupe to set up a smoke-screen. Time will tell.

Another whore. This crap won’t stop until it makes a person a pariah in America to do this.
Lenin nailed it. Capitalists will sell someone the rope to hang them with.
