ormer FBI Director James Comey who was fired by President Donald Trump earlier this month apparently has asked to postpone his scheduled meeting Wednesday with Congress so he can first speak with Special Counsel.
NeverTrumper Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Chairman of the Oversight & Government Reform Committee, tweeted out yesterday:
Spoke with Comey. He wants to speak with Special Counsel prior to public testimony. Hearing Wed postponed. @GOPoversight”

Exactly. If Mueller has an ounce of integrity, he would step aside. I don’t expect that to happen, however, since Mueller accepted the position knowing his communications and relationship with Comey.

I believe Republicans in both the house and senate should put pressure on Mueller to step aside. There are more than enough reasons. It would look much better than Trump having to do it. Let’s see if any of the GOPe step up.

Lindsey Graham was on (IIRC) MacCallum’s show the day before the senate hearing saying the fact that Mueller cleared him to testify proved that there was nothing on Trump. Otherwise why send out the star witness to blab about all your evidence.
When my trial for murder comes up I plan on postponing it to have a nice dinner and steam bath with the judge first.

Appointing Mueller was a mistake. A stupid mistake. It’s a mistake on entirely nonpartisan grounds, he and Comey are buddy-buddy. That’s enough to nix the deal; at least it should be.
