Well that took a little longer than I expected. Seems to me like a good guy(s) with a gun made this less of a catastrophe than it could have been. Didn't anyone call the HAGs to get their take on the situation? Or is shannon watts too busy working on her possible CO campaign run.

Good for him. These stupid Dems need to be called out daily. And not with the gentlemanly BS most Republicans want to use with their ‘friends across the aisle’.

...due to our inability to acknowledge our national firearms pathology...

What is he talking about? I suppose I might feel that way if I lived in certain neighborhoods in Chicago or New Orleans, but I don’t.

In a sane world, it goes down like this one did. Bad guy comes to shoot lots of people. As soon as he shoots, good guys with guns put him down.

Remember Paris shootings? It went down a little differently. Police officers died. They were shot with impunity significantly AFTER the whole thing began.

So who really has this “national pathology” about guns?

TOPIC: Shooting of Steve Scalise and others in Alexandria. Can’t wait to see how the MSM spins this one!

As most of you already know, since mid-2014,we’ve been doing a 30 minute weekly Wednesday radio show (aka “rant”) with Dr. Lori Wilson out of WLBB in Carrollton, Georgia.
If you have an interest in listening, go to this link http://www.gradickcommunications.com
and the center “PODCASTS” Menu and click on “The Wednesday Show with Dick Bachert”
for the current program.
If you want to listen real-time, the show airs between 8:30 to 9:00 AM, Eastern

Without a gun this would have been a massacre
If the killer was using a knife a gun would still have saved the day

Of course the Alexandria police were on the call - took 5 minutes to arrive

So all those who want to be gun free should practice the British mantra Keep Calm and Run Hide Tell
Just hope you can run and find a place to hide

Fringe lunatic liberal Terry McAuliffe, VA Governor just blamed guns. He should have blamed Democrat hate.

Virginia Governor certainly didn’t waste time blasting ownership of guns - too many, too readily available, gun shows, loopholes. He certainly has his talking points memorized. At least Scalise had armed security.

This works in other ways that would cause Progressive heads to explode.

Like:

There was a terrible incident of jihadi murder on London Bridge. Would any British person say in the aftermath ‘this is not the time to discuss lawful carry of concealed weapons for self defense?”

And Terry McAuliffe says “We lose 93 million people a day to gun violence” several times, before claiming today is not the day for the discussion of gun control.

He was then thrown a lifeline by a reporter who offered that “93 million seems like an awfully high number”

McAuliffe corrected himself.

It’ll come loud and clear over the months about gun control and sales will again go through the roof...

The MSM-Democrats are going to have to lie like they’ve never lied before about this incident.

I bet they’ll try to pin it on DJT. I bet they’ll try to make it out that the guy was somehow hired by DJT to create a sympathy-building incident, and that he was ordered to not shoot to kill.

That’s if they can’t stuff it in the memory hole, which they will try to do anyway.

Free people are trusted people. Because free people don’t have rulers over them. When a free person goes bad, bad things will happen. They must be stopped and put away.

We are given the right to be free by our Creator. That is the difference between us and serfs under a ruler. We risk getting hurt because we trust each other. We are also free to walk about protected.

It is more important to be free and risk getting hurt than to be “theoretically safe” but slaves to the ruling elite. If anyone doesn’t like a free country where we answer to Gd alone and rule ourselves, please. You have your choice of EVERY OTHER LAND IN THE WORLD.

> Given the non-stop carnage

Is it 0.01% of the population that get killed with a gun per year? Or less?

What % of those would not have been killed by knives, explosives, cars, or other items if guns were made illegal? What % of those occurred because of other crimes (i.e. gangs, drugs) - by and to individuals who don’t care about laws? I’d bet “reasonable restrictions” on gun laws save 0.001% of the population or less. And a total ban doesn’t do much better.

I wouldn’t label the situation in the US “non-stop carnage” unless my percentages are WAY off.

Is it proper for the federal government to take away rights from almost 100% of the population to help 0.001% or less? We need to start with that question. If a majority say yes, we can talk about restrictions on our freedom that we should consider in order to save lives.

The REAL carnage won’t begin until guns are taken away from the people. People who make such claims are either stupid or evil . . . and not much in between. But the concept is so easy to understand, I believe MOST who make that argument to be evil. Statistics are NOT on their side.
