Something is fishy about USS Fitzgerald story we are getting from the media
americanthinker.com ^ | Thomas Lifson

Posted on 06/18/2017 7:22:25 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

We received an email from a Navy Mother that raises serious questions. We will redact her name, while the rumors (and that’s how they must be categorized for now) reported by her son aboard the Fitzgerald are checked out. Here is what she wrote to us:

My son is assigned to the USS Fitzgerald. I am unable to share his rate with you.

The information is short and not so sweet. The implications are disturbing.

The ship is registered in the Philippines. We do not know who the owner is. The container ship neither had its running lights or transponder on. That is an action taken willfully. Furthermore, for the container ship to strike with such accuracy is troublesome. Given what some have done with cars in Europe, what a feather in the cap it would be to sink a U.S. Navy warship. Think on that.

My son missed being washed out to sea by the blink of an eye. He was on his way to one of the berthing areas that was rammed.

*snip*

If there is any substance to this – that the ACX Crystal disabled protective systems and rammed the Fitzgerald at high speed aimed at crtical facilities (evident from the damage) –

PHOTOS

…we have to consider the possibility of an asymmetric warfare attack designed to disable missile defense of a carrier strike group, as North Korea demonstrates the ability to make exactly such attacks on a multibillion dollar warship carrying thousands of sailors.

My question is why no evasive measures!

> Who is the captain of the ACX Crystal? <

One thing’s for sure. If the Crystal’s crew is allowed to disembark once they reach port, those guys are going to disappear into the wind.

I'll take "A U.S. Navy Filled with Incompetent Personnel" for $800, Alex.

Ten years from now I'm sure we'll find out that the captain of the U.S. ship was a pregnant transgender male wearing a p#ssy hat.

First, I'll admit I know next to nothing about naval matters.
I do remember reading a few years ago about a navy tracking facility that can literally track every ship on the high seas by satellite so I'm guessing, if this facility exists, the navy could easily find out if this civilian vessel was darkened/and or running without radar.

“New stealth cloaking mechanism being tested by an enemy?”

New stealth cloaking tested by us, watching smugglers maybe?

we used to have passionate journalists that would demand answers to these events...but they spend too much time forcing their agenda and speaking points on us..

” ...a pregnant transgender male wearing a p#ssy hat.”

A profile of Obama’s type of military commander, except he would make him Secretary of Defense rather than waste (its) talents on just one ship.

“Do you feel that way about the ship being rammed in the Suez canal too?”

I am not familiar with that incident.

I have to trust our dept of defense leader “maddog” now is working with trump to get the truth. That may take a few days to extract differences in stories. Any needed punishments will follow.

I thought I read it on one of the early threads here but I could be wrong. Gal/guy or in today’s Navy, some combination thereof?

I’ve wondered about the alleged container ship from the Philippines all along. Where is it and where are its crew?

After reading everything I can find online ranging from whacky conspiracy theories to sensible and seasoned sailors it seems such an unlikely occurrence I simply can’t believe it happened. It’s incomprehensible. So many things had to go wrong at once.

I’m pretty skeptical about “Navy Mom” too. For many reasons.

I haven’t a theory that some other theory doesn’t invalidate.

Crazy.

Questions: i

f the anti collision transponder and tracking transponder was “off” how is the track known?

and, given the port bow of the container ship hit the starboard amidships of the destroyer, under normal rules of the road it is incumbent on the cargo ship to hold course and the destroyer must take evasive action, the cargo ship has right of way in that case.

its just not credible that the destroyer didn’t “see” the cargo ship. even radar for recreational boats has collision tracking and alarm, even if the AIS system is turned off. its inconceivable the destroyer did not “see” the cargo ship.

And? You think the Ruissians put a piece of equipment that must be top secret on some container ship? Just to reveal its existence and preformance characteristic to the US, merely to take out one destroyer? Like the destroyer’s radar would have been knocked out of commission but no one noticed?

Really?

In 1956 the Andrea Doria and the Stockholm were each aware of the other as their radars picked up the presence of the other ship, though fog prevented visual sighting until the last minute. Misunderstanding the two ships’ intentions lead to the collision. Perhaps something similar happened here.

I wonder if we’ll ever find out who was running the Bridge at the time. Maybe it was one of the pregnant males.
