Struggling to make progress on campaign promises like tax and health care reform, rank-and-file congressional Republicans are stepping up calls for their leaders to cancel or at least shorten the upcoming August recess.
The GOP agenda is about to enter a summer slump amid internal disagreements and efforts by Democrats to sideline legislation. These efforts will enter a new phase Monday evening when Democrats plan to start slowing down Senate work even more by making speeches and refusing to let Republicans take procedural shortcuts.

How does the GOP agenda hit roadblocks? They are in charge of both houses.
The first roadblock is GOPe's inability to agree to end the Trump/Russia/obstruction/Mueller/Comey distraction. Stop allowing Congress to waste time on it and stop allowing the administration to waste money on it.
Like Rodenstein, they are masters of chasing themselves up their own trees.

What is the “August recess” supposed to be for anyway? When there is pending legislation still to be dealt with, NOBODY should be allowed to go home. Just because they don’t want to be in that hot old steamy fever swamp during August, is no reason to skip out. That is why God invented air conditioning.
This is not about getting work done but keeping Trump from putting in a bunch of recess appointments.....especially for the FBI.
They aren’t going to stay in session. That would mess up their taxpayer funded vacations to foreign countries. I hope they leave so Trump can appoint someone with integrity to head the FBI.
So, galavanting around the world being wined and dines by foreigners is more important than getting the People’s business done. I am getting so tired of these do-nothing prima donnas!

The Republicrats are stalling. When they return from their month long vacation they’ll stall some more and then comes the holidays, which they will also use as an excuse.
Here’s the deal: NO obamacare repeal, no tax reform no nothing until next year. Period.
None dare call it treason.....
